It’s funny because if the Caps just promoted within and played Stevenson all season as their backup instead of signing Lindgren to a 3X3 they would be in a playoff spot

@GrantPaulsen It’s def a failure when it was avoidable and may be Ovis last year. Failure to fix the PP. failure to acquire the top 6 player when they knew PLD was going to be out awhile. They should’ve made the playoffs with simple tweaks they avoided.

The Caps didn't do enough to make the playoffs. You get 82 games to handle your business. They didn't. Too many points left on table, especially in OT and shootouts. But the future is bright. @sammisilber Big fumbles with GMCP not bolstering the lineup. Carbs not fixing the PP. easily could’ve been a playoff team in maybe Ovis last year. Really unacceptable

Leonard and Soudif RFA 2027-2028 Protas, Hutson and Miro RFA 2028-2029 I really hope Caps don't mess around with these. Sign all of them to max contracts as soon as you can. I can understand not doing it for Miro, but need to do it for the other 4.

@carterbsports Yes and no. He’s the HC it all falls on him. Hes seen enough he could’ve stepped in or set a higher bar. But instead we saw almost 2 full mins of ovi pp time when it didnt help.

An idea I’ve been kicking around in my head if Ovi does retire: trade away our older great players for younger players to build around Hutty, Lil Pro, Lenny, and Cristal. Might take a step back for 1-2 years but could be dominant for the next 10-15 after.

@sammisilber Should’ve mailed it in when we could’ve moved into the lottery. They would get waxed by a playoff team anyways. It’s a shame this season played out with so many preventable blunders from roster to fixing the pp. hate wasting ovies last year and LTs solid performance.

@sammisilber That Carbery needs to refine his defensive system in the offseason. Way too many scoring chances and goals against that just shouldn't happen with this personnel.
