I won the BEST POSTER OVERALL prize at the Faculty of Science Showcase 2023 with over 200 poster presenters @sheffielduni 💪 We were judged based on quality of the poster, clarity of presentation and communication of our research to a non-specialist. I had a great time!

@MCB_Sheffield @collins_lab @melghazaly96 We found that DNA damage induced by typhoid toxin of Salmonella activated a tumour suppressor mechanism called senescence. The SASP secretome from the senescent cells contained Wnt5a and TGFβ ligands, which damaged cells in the infection niche and promoted Salmonella infection
