It’s finally release day!! THE EMPTY ROOM is here. Get your copy anywhere books are sold. Ending a series is new for me. Saying goodbye to this town, this family. It’s been 5 years, but it’s time. Thank you 🫶 **Everyone feels safe in their own house. Until it’s too late.**

@CampbellSports So many people are misinformed or just lying; even 60k is way more than most starting teachers!!

@kylefarnworth @threnye Have you seen Train Dreams movie yet?? It was very good, but not as good as the book. Also found out they made Stars At Noon with Margaret Qualley 👀

@threnye I love 90-page-makes-you-think novellas. OF MICE AND MEN... TRAIN DREAMS... OLD MAN AND THE SEA come to mind immediately, but there are tons.

The lack of understanding in some of these quote tweets is wild. Guys, I’m not arguing long books > short books. I’m saying that books that make you think > books that don’t. Figure it out! (I also typed the tweet when I was on the treadmill, so maybe I wasn’t clear enough.)

@metaphor_dead @kylefarnworth No that’s fair. I definitely agree about short stories and novellas. I guess I was thinking outside of SFF genres, a “long book” is seen as a chore. And even those SFF books aren’t always thematically dense reads.

@DavidKummer7 @kylefarnworth Really? The bestselling works of SFF for the last couple decades are Wheel of Time of Game of Thrones. By a huge margin. I'm of the firm opinion that short stories, novellas, and stand-alone works have been getting the short end of the stick. And the data supports that...

Dear readers, Please don’t be fooled. The author will comment and retweet this to try and convince you that books that make you think are too complex, too long, a thing of the past. They want to convince you that you don’t need them and that you should be reading 90-page-shoot ‘em up-novellas. They want your attention span to continue to shrink so that they can sell you 4 books a year that they rush through writing. They want you to look Pulitzer Prize winner like THE GOLDFINCH and say “800 pages? That’s too long” because then you aren’t reading their books. But if you don’t, you’ll lose so much about life, about humanity. Don’t let them do this to you. Books are like paintings. They are meant to be lingered on, dissected, spoken to, and shared. Don’t let them take that away from you. It’s all we have left. - KF

Anyone interested in a free copy of MEDUSA in exchange for an honest review? A group of intellectuals form their own society by taking over a small town in northern Maine, but their utopian vision has lasting consequences on themselves and their children.
