@OfyBurger Its completely irrelevant though. Im sure if Onmi-man had been interested in destroying the planet he'd have done so. He wanted to kill the big bug in such a way that would leave it in good order to butcher and eat. Very different level of force needed. Not like the bug hurt.

I think invincible is a perfect example of why I find the whole “I don’t care about power scaling, I just care about writing” mindset to be really misguided. Like, the power system and the logic behind fights/how strong characters are is BAKED into the writing. Not separate.

By the Legacy of the Force books Mandalorians were simultaneously the ultimate warrior badasses whose generic soldiers could take storied Jedi Masters, but also the moral arbiter of the Galaxy. Calling them an authors pet would be underselling it by orders of magnitude.

@timAcatsoftpaws Instead of exploring the consequences of Return of the Jedi, we are playing hot potato with a black lightsaber. Starwars is a huge world. The way creatives lean on mandalorians and just pile on traits to them is boring when they could instead invent entirely new factions.

@timAcatsoftpaws I couldn't disagree more. They limit story opportunities and shrink the galaxy. Instead of a deep republic tradition or a strange kaminoian design, we get Mando armor because the audience recognizes it (i know the Canon reason).

@Framinthor @some_leftie I don't remember many people in 2001 calling for mass deportation or threatening American allies either. In fact I remember a lot of emphasis being put on creating a coalition at that time. Bush didnt do a very good job, but he still got most of Nato involved in Iraq.

@timAcatsoftpaws The most interesting thing about them is their look and the backstory to Kotor. Past that they are generic faceless warrior dudes with comical levels of plot armor. As I've said, your welcome to disagree. I have no idea what people see in stories like that. But they sell.
