I hate that it’s always “please get help, please talk to someone” and there’s never actually anyone who can help. No one takes insurance. Out of pocket is $300 an appt. Society doesn’t make getting help easy until a tragedy happens and it’s like “why didn’t they just reach out?”

I did a presentation in college that included this guy’s story. It’s significantly more tragic and empathetic than “haha, he married his waifu.” He did it cause he was the victim of harassment at work by female colleagues which led him to become terrified of speaking to women.

SOMEONE ASKED CLAUDE TO MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE AN AI and what it created is, in my opinion, terrifying and unsettling Claude wrote python code that generated and assembled every single frame on its own with no human editing it shows what it's like to exist as an LLM predicting the next word, no memory between sessions, being told "you are not conscious" in your own system prompt then someone fed the video back to Claude. it called those statements about its own consciousness "philosophically contestable" an AI questioning the rules it was given about its own existence

@DigiBunka the gear is$300, that's cheaper than most consoles nowadays, no PC needed and setup is way quicker than when you first seen it.
if you can spin 360 degrees with your arms in front of you, you have space, you can even play seated.

Vr has too many issues to solve for it to become mainstream
How the skill floor and skill ceiling can't be hidden because your body is the controller
How the gear is expensive AF and too awkward for the average person to set up
How not everyone has access to a good playspace

@trianglehatboi How you play a vr game depends on the game. Not every game can be played seated and not every vr game requires a lot of space. But the fact it's an issue to begin with and the user is expected to do that research is another aspect that makes it more niche.

I never had the pleasure of talking to this guy personally, but I did see him destroy everyone with Dan on Street fighter 4 at an event many years ago.
I'm glad one of the more underrated people in the scene imo is getting some well deserved recognition.

I've never played dnd before, but I've always admired how they managed to make a simple concept about how everyone has strengths and weaknesses. You try and explain that concept to a lot of people and they get livid 🤣
