@TMTLongShort It's not transshipment. IT'S the final assembly. Which is legal per US laws.

Because the world doesn’t only move in one direction. Until you coerce vassals to shut out China ofc supply previously bound for the U.S. would find a new intermediate channel. This is why transhipment enforcement is the capstone of decoupling. It’s coming. But it won’t be triggered until Europe is submissive. That requires pain. Ungodly economic pain.
VANDERBERG@EdwinVANDERBERG

@TMTLongShort CN trade surplus increased by $100bn over last 12mo, despite the tariffs. Why is that M8? Perhaps bc the policy is: tariffs but exempt everything. Also, allow final assembly of CN goods in MEX, VT, IN, CAM and send it to the states.

Hegemony implies that the day after China invaded Taiwan the Europeans would stop trading with China. Because we both know that is not the case it implies the U.S. has seen its hegemony greatly erode. Trump is making a mad dash towards regaining that hegemony. America ceasing trade with China is insufficient. You need to push that pain to vassals because American voters have become weak and intolerant of pain. That is what decoupling is. Pulling the collective west kicking and screaming away from China….. And forcing vassals to take the pain of re-industrializing on the other side of it.
em_gorilla@em_gorilla

@TMTLongShort That’s an honest post. So the trade was world gets free-riding you get hegemony. Which is a balanced trade. Why MAGA convinced that you are getting suckered and you need to keep only hegemony ?

I have no problem with the Canadians and Europeans in my comments scolding me when I talk about decoupling. I have a serious issue with the Americans who are rooting for Trump to fail simply because they don’t like his politics despite the obvious negative repercussions losing hegemony will have on our collective children and grandchildren. We are in the shit. Suck it up and vote him out at the polls. Until then STFU if the best you can do is publicly hope that Iran turns into a dumpster fire for our military or that France further undermines our leverage over Europe. If this is too much to ask you don’t deserve to benefit from the fruits of the hard men of the prior century who tirelessly worked to fortify the dominance and lifestyle you currently enjoy.

Remember the Western outrage about hostilities near Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine? Israel-U.S. have bombed our Bushehr plant four times now. Radioactive fallout will end life in GCC capitals, not Tehran. Attacks on our petrochemicals also convey real objectives.

Hegseth is an exceptional lightweight but his simplicity has advantages: he tells you what’s coming as the White House‘s misconceptions are our reality, that being l-term disruption of the Strait as Trump‘s domestic political deadline arrived. Don’t ignore it.
Aaron Rupar@atrupar

Hegseth: "The president was clear this morning in his Truth that there are countries around the world who ought to be prepared to step up on this critical waterway as well. Last time I checked there was supposed to be a big bad Royal Navy that could be prepared to do things like that."

Before LNG is loaded into a tank, the tank must be properly prepared through a series of controlled stages. This preparation is critical to ensure safety and to prevent damage due to extreme temperatures. An LNG tank is fitted with different lines, each serving a specific purpose: filling lines, spray lines, discharge lines, and pumps. The first stage is drying. The tank may contain humid air, which can lead to ice formation at low temperatures. To prevent this, dry air is introduced from the bottom of the tank through the filling lines to displace the moist air. Next is inerting. After drying, inert gas is introduced into the tank to purge out the dry air. This step is important to eliminate oxygen and reduce the risk of forming flammable gas mixtures. The third stage is gassing-up (vaporizing). Since inert gas contains carbon dioxide, which can freeze at low temperatures, it must be removed. Warm LNG vapor is introduced through the spray lines to displace the inert gas and prepare the tank for cooling. Then comes cooling down, which is a critical stage. The tank must be gradually cooled to avoid thermal stress that could damage the structure. Cold LNG is sprayed into the tank through spray nozzles, bringing the temperature down to about -110°C to -130°C. Finally, the loading (filling) stage begins. At this point, the tank is ready to safely receive LNG, and the cargo is loaded through the filling lines. In simple terms, the process moves from removing moisture, to removing oxygen, to introducing gas, then cooling the tank, and finally loading the LNG.

Cheeeeyyna is so F'ed, it's not even funny. - No foundational economy. - No sound monetary system. - No sound banking system. - No stealth capability. - Spends $2 in debt to generate $0.60c in growth. - Demographics, poisoned air, water, soil, rising sea levels. YIKES.
Taiwan Military@TaiwanMilitary

Reportedly, Yang was probed after 🇨🇳’s JY-series anti-stealth radars sold to 🇻🇪 & 🇮🇷 proved ineffective. 🇨🇳 had used the J-20 as a test target & falsely told Xi the radars could detect 🇺🇸 F-35 & F-22 stealth jets. This raised doubts about the J-20’s claimed stealth capabilities.

@TMTLongShort EU debt is 91% to GDP lol. If you read the US military forward looking annual briefing u would now that this is already happening, US focuses on CN & hands the defense reigns, manufacturing & planning to the EU '27-'28. Also EU is top trading partner with 21% share :)

So your argument is “Russia has already been weakened and is no longer a threat to Europe therefore Europe doesn’t need US bases”? If it is then I will respond - cool then tmrw NATO is disbanded and US removes all assets from the region, all intelligence sharing, reprioritizes Asia for LNG exports, puts up massive tariffs because europe has been excessively mercantalist, removes nuclear umbrella, reprioritizes Asia for arms sales since they are more important economically going forward, stops all dollar swap lines…. And after all this does Putin look at his economy and say “oh wow this sucks guess I’ll just go fuck myself” or does he try to pull a Aufrüstung and coerce concessions from defenseless and over indebted Europeans 😉

What this did was drive home the choice Washington is facing. Take extreme steps to regain hegemony or pack it up and turn isolationist. Europeans gleefully think the former isn’t possible and China is too valuable economically without realizing they are implicitly moving America towards the second option instead. You don’t realize how ambivalent Americans are towards if Europe turns into a fractured dumpster fire with Russia, China and Turkey picking off the pieces. We legitimately don’t care about you and a handful of jetsetting elites somehow convinced you that we do. If you think Trump was bad just wait until you get a Vance or worse. It’s coming. Bessent is litterally your only hope. And you hate him for it.

@TMTLongShort Specifically asked u first in order to get unadulterated take. RU spends 50% of the budged on war. Infra is in shambles: roads, ports, refineries, trains, aviation. Demographics: worse than CN. Hyperinflation is coming, GDP is artificially propped up by war economy.
