A member of the Banyamulenge community recalls: On October 8, 1996, the Banyamulenge were given six days to leave Congo (then Zaire) or face certain death. The ultimatum was issued by South Kivu's Deputy Governor, Lwasi Ngabo Lwabanji. When Zairian forces, allied with Rwandan genocidaires (ex-FAR and Interahamwe), moved to implement the genocidal agenda, the Banyamulenge defended themselves and joined other Zairian rebels in the campaign that would ultimately topple the Mobutu regime. Kagame’s Rwanda was on the right side of history then, and it still is now.

La RDC a envahi le #Rwanda en 1990 ; le Rwanda ne s’en plaint pas aujourd’hui. Le Zaïre a soutenu le gouvernement génocidaire ; le Rwanda ne s’en plaint pas. Le Zaïre a décidé de soutenir les anciens militaires et milices responsables du génocide afin qu’ils retournent au Rwanda et y changent de régime. Le Rwanda intervient au Zaïre. 🇨🇩URGENT🚨 📝Pauvreté extrême au #Congo La #RDC occupe désormais la première place mondiale en matière de pauvreté extrême. Selon un rapport de la Banque mondiale, 85,3 % de la population vit avec moins de 3 $ par jour. Cela s’ajoute au scandale récent survenu lorsque #Kinshasa a accueilli des migrants expulsés des États-Unis. Juste après leur arrivée, le gouvernement s’est précipité pour solliciter des fonds auprès de l’OIM afin de les prendre en charge. Récemment, j’ai publié une vidéo dans laquelle ces migrants suppliaient leur gouvernement de les faire rentrer chez eux, affirmant que la vie au Congo est un enfer. Mawa trop. Avec les richesses dont regorge notre pays, le mot "pauvreté" devrait être un mythe chez nous. Mais comme le pays est entre les mains de dirigeants corrompus, avec à leur tête Félix #Tshisekedi, la première image qui vient à l’esprit des gens lorsqu’ils entendent le mot "Congo", c’est la guerre et la pauvreté. Seule la révolution sauvera notre pays.

Your father, Gatebuke Justin, your uncles Enias Ukwitegetse and Théophile Burindi, and your aunt Nyiramakuba were not targeted during the Genocide against the Tutsi. Furthermore, referring to it as the “Rwandan Genocide” is a form of historical revisionism and denial of the internationally recognized Genocide against the Tutsi. You and other genocide deniers repeatedly attempt to appropriate the identity of genuine survivors while labeling those who stopped the genocide as perpetrators.

There is a crook, René Mugenzi, like you, who presented himself as a genocide survivor. He toured Europe speaking in that capacity; however, on October 27, 2020, Dutch police arrested his father, Joseph Mugenzi, who was a fugitive accused of involvement in the genocide.
