@oumirokkaku @Cait_Sith_co The Emiratis are also angry have pulled out of helping fund France's development of the Rafale F5 fighter jet.
France has a long and storied history of doing purely what is in its own best interest, no matter how much it screws over its allies, just simply because it can.

@FuestingJason @johnkonrad No, they finally deciphered Greek fire, it is time to build a navy that would make the Byzantines proud!
English

@johnkonrad Is it bad that it took me a good 3-4 seconds to realize you mean fireboats as in "ships that fight fires" as opposed to "fireships" as in "Ship-borne explosive devices" :P
I might have spent too much time reading and writing certain types of fiction.

@yamanakanobody Japanese culture is surprisingly similar and compatible with Anglo culture, so theirs always been a high degree of affinity from Anglo countries towards Japan, dating as far back as the Anglo-Japanese treaty.
The Anglo world also admires high trust societies.

@itobin_wh71 I don't know. I haven't studied history in University, hence my awareness only extending to its state (or lack thereof) in high school and other such lower levels of education.
We used to have it but they got rid of it and replaced it with the (very little) New Zealand history.

@IzasakuJapan It was nice knowing you 🫡
May your imminent explosion at least look cool.
English

@desert_noname Yep, it appears as though once someone presses "translate" the result gets cached and everyone else who reads that language will see it translated by default.
If no one has pressed translate yet it seems to keep it in its original form though.
