This year, he showed absolutely no interest in making a pick in the third round.

@SupermoonPics @DetroitOnLion Maybe you are right. But zero LB's can cover at this point at some point they need a LB (Will) who can actually play the pass. Rodrigo is #1 on the depth chart right now, seems like a very weak link.

@Whiticar No disrespect, but isn't Miller exactly what they were looking for? A right tackle? Freeling and Proctor have only played left. Neither appear to be the athlete Penei where you can just project them to play another position, ie. left tackle.

If your first reaction to the Lions drafting Miller was “F***”, what are you doing, genuinely?
-if you wanted Freeling, he isn’t SO much better than Miller to warrant that reaction
-if you wanted DE, whom? Mesidor/Lawrence/Faulk aren’t slam dunks

@erikschlitt I gotta believe Sewell will be an example to Proctor. Do you think Proctor coming in out of shape won't elicit a response from Penei? I'm not concerned. It's a young OL room but they all seem to be self starters. Proctor is about to learn what it takes to be a professional.

Saban, Re: Proctor Started complimenting the Alabama LT, then rolled into this ... "The issue with him is--he's not a bad person. He'll do whatever you ask him to, once you get him in the building. But when he's not in the building, he might get a little overweight, he might not come in in the best shape, and those are the things you have to manage with him. But I think they're manageable. He's not exactly a self-starter who will get in great shape and come to camp like you want him. But if you can get him to come to camp, (once) you got him there, you can get him ready to go. So, I don't think that's a huge negative for the guy." I know Saban meant all this as a positive, but hearing this stuff keeps me speculative on how he'd mesh with the Lions' culture.

If the Lions spend a fourth and future 2nd round pick to move up 4 spots for Proctor, then Freeling and Miller fall to 19 or later, I will be despondent on draft night.
