The greatest ambassador for a sport that you could hope for. A passionate man. A hype man. A baseball man. My heartfelt condolences to the family of M. Brulotte. May his mission and memories serve us all well when we long for the #Montreal boys of summer. Merci M. Brulotte.

Devastated to see this news. Just the most wonderful man. Always so encouraging, always so supportive; he was everyone’s friend, and he made everyone feel like they were his best one. His last months were very difficult, and when I called, he just wanted to know all about me. My love goes out to his family and his many, many friends. I will miss him very much.

If you built a pyramid of all the people that loved Montreal, loved baseball, loved the Expos and loved all the people who loved those things , at the top of that pyramid would be Rodger Brulotte . Rest in peace Rodger. Bon soir! Bon soir !

#BlueJays fans will remember Rodger Brulotte's voice from when an 18-year-old Vladdy walked it off in Montreal. This was a Brulotte trademark, born in 1989 from a Damaso Garcia walk-off. "“Da-ma-so! Da-ma-so! Da-ma-so!” "Vla-di-mir! Vla-di-mir! Vla-di-mir! “Bonsoir! Bonsoir!”

2013 Jack Graney award winner passes away. “Rodger Brulotte was a broadcasting legend whose name was synonymous with the Montreal Expos and with baseball in Quebec. Over his more than four decades calling Expos and Toronto Blue Jays games, he developed into one of the most respected baseball broadcasters and analysts in our country's history. His passion for the game was evident in every call he made. We were proud to recognize him with our Jack Graney Award in 2013. Rodger was also a strong supporter of baseball at the grassroots level and a tireless advocate for Quebec players. He has left an indelible mark on baseball in Canada. We would like to extend our deepest condolences to his family."

Salut mon ami! 🙏💔

"Expos management asked me if I would give French lessons to the players when we were on the road and it was fun. I used to teach it phonetically because you didn’t have time to do it too extensive grammatically. A lot of the Latin players like Dennis Martinez and others really enjoyed it … they were regulars. We used to have about a one-hour course per city we were visiting. They would lease a suite or a ball room or something like that and supply me with a blackboard … stuff like that. We used to get seven or eight guys who would show up on a fairly regular basis." Jacques Doucet. ONLY person to broadcast a Major League Baseball team over its entire history!!!!!!! Jacques Doucet coined, popularized or invented an entire glossary of baseball terms that didn’t quite translate to French in a way that made any sense. The “chandelle,” or candle, which is the word he used to describe a popup, “Flèche,” or arrow, which meant a line drive. “Frappé en lieu sûr,” which means, “hit in a safe place” and was the term used to describe a base hit. There is no real word for “knuckle” in French. It’s called a finger joint, and “finger joint ball” doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, Doucet coined the term “balle papillon” or “butterfly ball” HERO!!!! LEGEND!!! On s’en coliss esti, it`s about time!!!! Mr. Doucet did the French language broadcast with Claude Raymond! No one deserves the "Ford Frick" Award MORE!!! In my HOF!!!!
