Jakub Dobeš couldn’t help but smile as the crowd cheered for him 👏

Who is the most “What if” player in MLB history?

The Mariners retired Randy Johnson number. The second 51 retired by the club. First one, being Ichiro When Ichiro came to Seattle, he wrote a letter to Randy asking if he could wear 51 - Randy said yes without hesitation “One number. Two players. Representing one team”

The Washington Nationals uniforms are a complete and total mail in job. Absolutely nothing going on whatsoever - uninspiring, unimaginative and just grim. And always have been. Do they even try? Come on folks, I know you can do better!

After the cost-cutting story, I really wonder if Tom Dundon didn't buy the Blazers to move them.

"I can recall, in maybe 1969, that the local brewery that was our main sponsor with the Montreal Expos, O’Keefe Brewery , had a kind of symposium of sportswriters all across the province and we all sat down, everybody, and established a kind of French vocabulary for most of the American terms. Montreal Expos management asked me if I would give French lessons to the players when we were on the road and it was fun. I used to teach it phonetically because you didn’t have time to do it too extensive grammatically. A lot of the Latin players like Dennis Martinez and others really enjoyed it … they were regulars. We used to have about a one-hour course per city we were visiting. They would lease a suite or a ball room or something like that and supply me with a blackboard … stuff like that. We used to get seven or eight guys who would show up on a fairly regular basis." Jacques Doucet. ONLY person to broadcast a Major League Baseball team over its entire history!!!!!!! Jacques Doucet coined, popularized or invented an entire glossary of baseball terms that didn’t quite translate to French in a way that made any sense. The “chandelle,” or candle, which is the word he used to describe a popup, “Flèche,” or arrow, which meant a line drive, “prendre un coureur à contre-pied” (picking off a runner) and “un coup frappé à l’entrechamp” (Texas leaguer). “Frappé en lieu sûr,” which means, “hit in a safe place” and was the term used to describe a base hit. There is no real word for “knuckle” in French. It’s called a finger joint, and “finger joint ball” doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, so Doucet coined the term “balle papillon” or “butterfly ball” Modest as always, Jacques Doucet always sought to minimize his role. HERO!!!! LEGEND!!! On s’en coliss esti, it`s about time!!!! No one deserves the "Ford Frick" Award MORE!!! Jacques Doucette et Roger Brulotte.
