The man was totally in the wrong. Usually the ball that lands in the vicinity of an outstretched hand would be considered a fair pickup area. This man sprinted across nearly 16 seats and snatched the ball that landed within 1 seat of of the woman. To say she should have sacrificed it for father's kid is wrong. That woman may have someone she may have wanted to share it with.

Tell me you don’t understand baseball without telling me. A count of missed calls against each team doesn’t necessarily indicate bias. If an umpire is consistently giving 2” extra off the outside corner, a very common thing, and one pitcher is smart and has good control while the other team’s pitcher is dumb and has poor control the smart pitcher will take advantage of the wide zone while the dumb pitcher doesn’t. That will look like bias if measured by a simple count when the umpire is treating the teams exactly the same.
