Overcast Manifesto Abstract A foundational asymmetry characterizes the coming migration of commercial activity to autonomous systems. While the volume of machine-driven transactions—agentic commerce, institutional B2B payments, cross-jurisdictional capital allocation, programmable wage disbursement is projected to expand by two orders of magnitude this decade. The settlement infrastructure upon which this activity depends remains structurally misaligned with the requirements of autonomous commercial actors: it lacks programmable finality, offers no transactional privacy, and provides no mechanism for embedded compliance at the protocol level. Blockchain rails offer the programmability and finality that autonomous systems require, but attain utility as institutional infrastructure only when augmented by privacy. Privacy, in turn, cannot achieve widespread adoption without programmable compliance. In my opinion the best investments right now aren’t just good tech or products They’re founders who understand how to build distribution, trust, and community Two founders I’ve been following closely and who I think are doing this the right way are @danieldelophem (Nomu) and @louisregis (Xborg / Propr) Both working on different projects, but the founders share similarities in how they approach community building & distribution Perhaps thanks to their shared history @swissborg Daniel recently provided some insights in his thoughts about the industry as a whole and where he sees things going & it really resonated His core (& imo valid) point: Software is getting commoditized at an insane pace What used to take months now takes days What used to significant effort & expertise, now almost anyone can do So it forces a bigger question If anyone can build, what actually matters? I think both Daniel and Louis have a clear vision on that shift, which I personally really like They are not just building another piece of software They're focussing on things AI can’t easily replace: 🔸Strong brand + trust 🔸Community-driven distribution 🔸Products where users actually share in the upside This is playing the long game and thinking much further ahead than most projects do We are moving from “build great software and win” ➡️ to “build trust, movement, and distribution, then win” That’s why I think founder bets matter more than ever right now The ones who see the shifts early and build around it are the ones that win
