RF engineer here 👋 Each screen has its own 1 m-range, <1 mW Bluetooth 5 radio with a shaped antenna. Streams hop across 79 channels × 1 600 hop/s, so collisions just go to the next hop. Even on a packed A350 (~300 seats) that’s < 100 Mbit/s peak across the whole cabin which is trivial for 2.4 GHz FHSS. Cabin acts like a wave-guide and avionics live in completely different bands. You’re inside the giant metal tube. Not outside it.

I would love to hear an RF engineer talk about how this is possible. There's only so much 2.4 GHz bandwidth... and planes are gigantic metal tubes...
