Crystal Sorey, mother of Harmony was in court today pretrial, on her 15 million dollar lawsuit against a convicted child murderer Adam Montgomery, father of Harmony, serving life in prison. Let’s be clear: He will never pay a cent. He is barred from profiting off the story, so what is this really about? While this $15 million lawsuit goes nowhere, it is doing real harm—blocking the closing of Harmony’s estate and delaying the funds the state of New Hampshire reserved in trust for Harmony's siblings from her lawsuit against DCYF. The state would not settle with her otherwise. Probate court cannot release those funds until litigation ends. That is not justice. In my view, it is exploitation—of Harmony’s name, and of her memory. How much more can the state of New Hampshire abuse this little girl?

The commercials on @PlutoTV are absolutely wild. I was watching old episodes of 48 Hours last night, and every single ad was some shady Medicare or health insurance scam: A “free” $1,000 grocery card… but only if you call right now. Fake doctors. Fake testimonials from people who supposedly benefited. And then there was the final expense life insurance ad with cringeworthy (real) mashup videos of families screaming and jumping for joy like they just won the lottery because grandma died and they’re getting $40k. Has anyone seen this shit?
