Iranian Kurdish Parties Deny Receiving US Weapons, Reject Donald Trump’s Claim Iranian Kurdish parties and the alliance of six Iranian Kurdish groups deny having received any weapons from the United States that were allegedly sent to protesters in Iran, rejecting claims made by Donald Trump, who said in an interview that such weapons had been sent and may have been taken by Kurds.

This claim has several problems. First, most major Iranian Kurdish parties have denied receiving any weapons, and no credible evidence has been presented to support the allegation. Second, it is unclear how Kurdish groups could realistically transfer weapons to protesters inside Iran. The country has tight security and heavily controlled borders, making large-scale smuggling into cities like Tehran extremely difficult. Even if such transfers were possible, another question arises: how would these groups identify who is actually a protester and who is not? There is no clear mechanism for distributing weapons selectively in such a chaotic environment. Overall, the claim lacks evidence and raises serious practical and logistical questions, making it highly questionable.

Thank you for your continued support and for raising concern about the situation of human rights defenders and the targeting of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee. Your engagement brings important international attention to these issues. Despite this, the harassment and intimidation against activists and their families continue without pause. My father was forcibly disappeared on April 5,2025 and remained in unlawful custody for months before his release. During that time, he was denied due process and basic legal protections. After that he was summoned multiple times and threatened very seriously .This pattern extends beyond my family. Members of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee their families and other Baloch political workers facing similar threats, reflecting a broader practice of collective punishment against those associated with peaceful human rights work. Human rights activism is not a crime. Seeking fundamental rights is protected under international law. The criminalisation of peaceful advocacy undermines justice and poses a threat to basic freedoms. Continued international attention and concrete action are essential to ensure protection, accountability, and respect for human rights. @MaryLawlorhrds @UNSRVAW @KenRoth

I am very concerned by the reported continued harassment & criminalisation of WHRD Dr. Sabiha Baloch & her family by the authorities in #Pakistan, as well as the ongoing targeting of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC). This appears to be in response to their peaceful promotion & defence of human rights & must stop @PakUN_Geneva

Urgent that the reference point for the oppressed nation/groups in west Asia is their own collective/community. Alignment with Empire and sub-imperial regional states are both futile .

PJAK: Neither Tehran nor Washington; a “third way” for the Kurds As military tensions rise between Iran on one side and the United States and Israel on the other, the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) has stressed its “third way” policy. Rozerîn Kemanger, a senior member of the party and head of communications of the Free Women’s Society of East Kurdistan (KJAR), said in an interview with Jacobin (@jacobinmag_de) that the current war between powers “is not a project for the liberation of the Kurdish people.” Kemanger pointed to the internal situation in Iran and said that, in her view, besides external conflicts, the Iranian government has for years faced internal dissatisfaction, especially among women and young people. She said the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement has increased social awareness, and according to her, recent crises have not strengthened the government but instead have led to more protests. While some media have talked about possible cooperation between Kurdish groups and the US, this PJAK official called such claims “propaganda.” Referring to past experiences, including developments in Syria, she said that Kurds do not want to act within the framework of global power competition. She added: “We rely on our society and our own strength.” Kemanger also stressed the importance of unity among Kurdish parties in East Kurdistan and said it is an important factor in the current situation. She mentioned the idea of a “democratic nation” as a model for peaceful coexistence of different groups in Iran, saying it could be an alternative to the current centralized system. In another part of the interview, she highlighted the role of women in social changes and said KJAR is one of the main groups organizing women. She also referred to some female political prisoners as symbols of resistance. "Personalities like Zeynab Jalalian, Varisheh Moradi, Pakhshan Azizi and many others have become the voice of all women in Iran; now it is our responsibility to be their voice." In the end, said that, in her opinion, in the current situation, societies will be more successful if they rely on internal organization and social strength instead of depending on foreign powers. jacobin.de/artikel/kurden…

I see @susanabulhawa is retweeting this. As much as her advocacy and courage when it comes to #Palestine is commendable and inspirational, her stance when it comes to #Iran falls embarrassingly short on Iran is analytically weak and deeply disappointing. Much like @mehdirhasan, and in fact entirely aligned western Left they (rightly) accuse of ignorance, they reduce the Iranian case to a binary of Global South resistance versus American imperialism, and in doing so fail to grasp the specific dynamics of the structural violence of the regime. I’ve long argued that there is a third dimension that must be centered: the brutality and authoritarianism of the Iranian regime itself. Many of us are capable of holding multiple truths at once: standing unequivocally with #Palestinians; recognizing Israel as a settler-colonial state engaged in #genocidal violence in #Gaza; understanding #American and European imperial entanglements in the region; and, at the same time, refusing to downplay the violence and repression of the Islamic Republic. I am entirely disappointed to see Susan and others instrumentalize the struggles of Iranian women, who have lived under a system of gender apartheid for over four decades, and who have persistently resisted it, in order to fold their struggle into a narrow anti-imperialist frame. As a woman with lived experience under this regime, as an Iranian Canadian, and as a scholar of social justice, I can assure you, there is nothing emancipatory about Iranian missiles when it comes to women’s rights or any other human rights.
Iran Embassy in Sweden@IRANinSWEDEN

Iranian missiles advocate women’s rights more than political claimants and feminist movements do.

My year in solitary confinement has not broken me. My peaceful fight for Baloch rights in Pakistan goes on I’ve reflected on why our peaceful protests are treated as a threat, when nonviolent political engagement is the very foundation of a democratic society. Resistance is often the path to justice, and such movements should not be suppressed. When a state turns its power against human rights groups and peaceful political actors, it reveals not strength, but weakness. Our peaceful resistance has allowed the message to reach far and wide. People of conscience are aware of atrocities in Balochistan, yet greater global attention is needed to end the genocide. theguardian.com/global-develop…

The social media handle of this “woman owned publication” was white washing the history of Indian colonial occupation of Kashmir in 2019 btw.

Hi @_mahdichowdhury I’m surprised you would say this as an academic who has pitched The Juggernaut to write with us. To quote Puja, there’s a fine line between constructive criticism and tearing down people. Kind of surprised you think it’s okay to do so, that too for a woman-owned publication during women’s history month!

March 25, 1971 is observed as Genocide Day. On the occasion of Genocide Day, 1 pay my deepest respect to all the martyrs. In the history of freedom-loving Bangladesh, 25 March 1971 remains one of the most disgraceful and brutal days. On that dark night, the Pakistani occupation forces carried out one of the most heinous genocides in history against the unarmed people of Bangladesh in the name of 'Operation Searchlight". They indiscriminately opened fire on teachers, intellectuals and innocent civilians at various places, including Dhaka University, Pilkhana and Rajarbāgh Police Lines, killing many people. The genocide of 25 March was a pre-planned massacre. Why this organised killing spree could not be resisted remains a matter of historical research regarding the visible role of the political leadership of that time. However, on the night of 25 March, the 8th East Bengal Regiment in Chattogram formally initiated armed resistance against the genocide by declaring 'We Revolt'. Through this resistance to genocide, the long nine-month armed Liberation War began. To convey the value and significance of independence to the present and future generations, it is essential to know about the genocide of 25 March as well. Let us all strive to honour the sacrifices of the martyrs by establishing in the state and society the spirit of the great Liberation War - equality, human dignity and social justice. Let us work together to build a just, developed, prosperous, self-reliant and democratic Bangladesh. I pray to the Almighty Allah to grant forgiveness and eternal peace to the departed souls of all the martyrs. On the occasion of Genocide Day on 25 March. I wish every success to all the programmes organised to observe the day.

Today, mother, 64, was sentenced to three terms of life imprisonment by an Indian court for her participation in Kashmiri liberation struggle. Father, is already serving a life sentence since 1993, for the same reason. Two among many lifetimes that the occupation has stolen.

Let's don't forget Jinnah's vision of the 23rd March of Pakistan: Muslim majority provinces in the North-West and the North-East of India should be "grouped to constitute independent states in which the constituent units ... would be autonomous and soveregn".
