Greek Cypriots unfortunately don’t have the political maturity to be a European Union member state. Europe’s weakest military excludes Europe’s strongest military from a European defensive cooperation framework initiative and tries to pitch this as inline with European interests. As with all narratives, this will crash into reality. Exclusion and sanctions have only made Türkiye stronger - division will make Europe weaker. This mindset is exactly why the island of Cyprus has been divided for 50 years. It’s why Greek Cypriots voted no to unification. It’s why they exploit the EU to punish Turkish Cypriots. And It’s why Türkiye will always stand with the Turkish Cypriots.

The notice: •Covers airspace from surface level up to 18,000 ft (FL180) •Remains active until 12 April 2026 •Instructs pilots to stay in contact with Nicosia Air Traffic Control (126.3 MHz) The key issue is this: It includes airspace used and controlled by Northern Cyprus. The TRNC has now responded with its own counter-NOTAM, rejecting this entirely. Its position is clear: Only Ercan is the legitimate authority responsible for air traffic services in Northern Cyprus airspace. In other words - two different authorities are now issuing conflicting instructions over the same airspace.
