I spoke to a school in Yorkshire yesterday who are using and LOVING the automated, online quizzing in Smartgrade as part of their Ark Curriculum Plus subscription. So nice to hear positive feedback about a great initiative from @ArkCurriculum in partnership with @SmartgradeUK.

I thought the #Education sector had previously had this debate. Imagine a loved one going for a medical procedure…you would never accept a surgeon adopting an approach based on their ‘preference’. You would hope it was based on evidence of what works. This is a retrograde step.

A far greater proportion of private than state school pupils get extra time in exams… which is even odder when you consider the wider context this is happening within: we know special educational needs are more prevalent in poorer areas ft.com/content/5f96ea…

To reinforce the point, just 14% of schools with 50%+ Pupil Premium (PP) achieved positive ‘Progress 8’ in 2023; compared to 61% of schools with 25% or lower PP students. 50%+ schools should learn from the best performing schools working in similar contexts.
