@CockertonMark used to get it regularly. While it’s bad, freeze a small bottle of water, put it in a sock & roll foot over it. I prefer Vionic shoes & insoles to the others.Once got the injection but the long term solution for me is to always stretch toes up before getting up and standing.

Plantar fasciitis - which sounds like something you’d catch from Nigel Farage’s gardener - is damn painful. Any tips for alleviating it besides insoles and a foot massage roller?

@Doug_Lemov Rebus is a TV detective series but there’s a book called Rebus Scotland - a personal journey. It’s a tour of places which impacted the stories and a good read. Also for anyone going anywhere different, I think The Culture Map is a good read.

Tweeps: Daughter is studying in Scotland next semester. I need xmas book ideas for her- ideally something a bit like Kate Fox’s “Watching the English”- funny but useful guide to culture & norms of daily life. If not that then just really funny. Thoughts?

Does anyone know the best app or iPad accessible website, preferably free, that the children could just use to replace a whiteboard and whiteboard pen? Aka it's a blank canvas and they can write a quick answer on it then hold it up? Whiteboard pens costing a fortune!

We don't have the strength right now to reply to you all, but please know how grateful we are for the love and kindness you are showing us. We are bereft, missing the soul of this house who made us all a little sillier and fun 💓Isabelle💓

Insomnia! I've hesitated over going there, but ARGH. Women of a certain age? I've always counted the ability to sleep as one of my gifts, so its sudden arrival is profoundly unwelcome (distressing), not least for the hordes of invisible scorpions having parties on my skin...

@suzannezeedyk Such sad news, a lovely man who changed my understanding of how babies communicate and the mistakes adults make - and a great supporter of @UpstartScot

Thousands of you will have heard me talk of the work of Colwyn Trevarthen, whose research radically changed the way we understand babies' communicatory capacities. Sad news has arrived that he died yesterday, peacefully in his sleep. Here he is 2015, at a Child's Curriculum mtg.

@WillowNBirch I’ve had it 3 times - once it was so bad I had the injection - 1 minute of absolute agony but better than that feeling daily.

My week of free webinars kicks off on Sep 18th at 5.45pm with a free taster session for ECTs (& anyone new to EYs or wanting a refresher) This is the first in a series of six micro sessions, aimed to enhance the support ECTs are already receiving. This one is about settling in & supporting self-regulation through co-regulation, and how to replace ‘behaviour management’ with a focus on relationships, routines and realistic boundaries. Start as you mean to go on - connecting, connecting, connecting! More info here: kymscottconsultancy.com/working-in-eyf…

I know this is a bit of a long shot but I thought Twitter was the best place to ask… Does anyone have any handouts on Selective Mutism in French? Just basic info on what it is and how to support? 🇫🇷 #wespeechies #slpeeps

For those who have flown with teenagers with anxiety, what over the counter medication have you found useful to support? I’ve seen something called rescue remedy which is a liquid you can drop into a hankie but am unsure if can take that on a plane?? The bottle is less than 100ml

In yet another trip down memory and nostalgia lane, those "Sue Palmer big books" on key features of text types were truly brilliant. Another thing lost along the way that is now seemingly making a resurgence in conversations around primary writing across the curriculum.
