Sorry, I don't buy the "It is hard to get a goalie" scenario. Sure it is hard, but far from impossible. Good scouting helps. Ask the Flyers. Dan Vladar at $3.35m has paid off HUGE for them. Oilers need to be better at scouting goalies.

I'd like to see Savoie on the top power play today replacing RNH. McDavid can't cut fast, so he's now more of a perimeter player. With Savoie, he'd have one more option, Savoie left half-wall, Drai right half-wall, Bouchard point and Hyman down low. Might work.

@JamesPitts_SCM Captain on every team he's played on, save for the Olympics when he's an A. Doubt they put the C on him when Crosby was injured, just for the hell of it. I don't think anyone in the league would doubt his leadership. 🤷

@OilersNation The fact that we have had McDavid for 11 years now and still haven’t won a cup is just unacceptable. Way too many managerial failures over the years. It’s just so depressing . Literally two more years, that’s all we got.

Here’s the problem. The second you start calling your own team “Average” with high expectations, you’ve already lost the room. That’s not leadership—that’s distance. You never heard Wayne Gretzky do that.
Or Mario Lemieux.
Or Michael Jordan.
Or Tom Brady. Those guys didn’t separate themselves from the team—they dragged the team up with them. And there’s a reason they all have rings. Multiple. People forget something real quick. When Gretzky left Edmonton, the Oilers won the Cup second season after. Let that sink in. Right now, Connor McDavid is the best player in the league. No debate. But if the mindset doesn’t shift, he risks becoming something nobody wants to be— The most talented player of his era with a highlight reel full of magic… and nothing to show for it when it matters most. Someone had to say it. 🏒 #LetGoOilers

@Latenite72 @JasonGregor Highly doubt it. From former coaches, they in common say that the core roster doesn’t play consistent group defence.

@JasonGregor I’m starting to wonder if the bottom line problem is Katz or maybe his son, dabbling with #Oilers too much. There can’t be that many GM and coaches that are that stupid , who have constantly failed with the #LetsGoOilers .

Katz will do a full evaluation of management, coaching and players in the next few weeks. Once he decides who stays, then they have to focus on: Solidify goaltending position. Ensure team commits to playing sound defense. Get better penalty killers and a better PK system.
