My modest accelerator just completed its 36th cohort Supporting founders in year zero and year one is the hardest work in the business, with the slowest payback time horizon Yet, it’s the most thrilling and rewarding thing you can do. Excited for LA37 starting in the fall If you were rejected by YC or a16z speedrun, forward your application to me at yc@launch.co, and we will take a meeting

8 startups. 8 VCs. 3 days in San Francisco. We took our latest Accelerator batch on a pitching Road Show... and they delivered. 🤝 Here are the VCs' top picks 👇

@toptiptom Uber has done fantastic if you invested in it when it was worth five million 😂. And I am diversified.

There are a ton of variables to consider with the job market in the age of AI People’s opinions are largely based on their political tribe. Demoocrats want to believe the sky is falling, and republicans want to believe it’s the Trump Golden Age — both of these are bad takes The reality is that 10-20m jobs are going away in the next decade. from taxi drivers to white-collar middle managers to factory workers. This is obvious. At the same time, millions of jobs are being created, from AI trainers to data center builders — and of course, my favorite, startups! we will have massive job displacement and creation at the same time. The Trump administration will claim these are because of the President's brilliance, while the democrats and America First crowd will say President Trump double-crossed them by not deporting 20 million immigrants and by allowing H1B abuse. It’s a concerning amount of destruction combined with early signs of a boom for select jobs. We will get through it, but it will be chaotic and challenging,

@Jason It’s ridiculous to assume Jamal from Detroit is going to going from uber driver to “high quality work” managing a bunch of ai. Get out of your bubble, dude. So out of touch

@DTfromGB The people who will be most accurate are the ones deploying and utilizing the technology. I think we can all agree on that.

@Jason I’m in your camp Jason but AI is developing so fast that it’s nearly impossible for anyone to accurately call what will happen with jobs.

@Jason 10M displaced and 10M created aren't the same 10M people. That's where the politics actually lives.

@BuckinghamWyatt I'm only in favor of importing the most elite talent in the world who create jobs for Americans.

It’s interesting how you play devils advocate here, while acknowledging the supposed fact tens of millions of Americans will be unemployed due to AI - and you still want to import millions of people each to further displace Americans already enduring hardship. Do you not see the problem here?

@Jason the 10-20m number feels right but nobody wants to talk about the timeline being that compressed it's gonna be way messier than people think because both the destruction and creation are happening simultaneously in weird pockets

If you talk to anyone building or deploying the technology, they will tell you the same thing: humans driving cars will seem crazy in ten years. Some may still do it, but it will be optional. They will tell you that humans sorting boxes in a factory is crazy when you have humanoid robots powered by AI. These aren't just my opinions. These are the opinions of everyone who is deploying the technology.

@Jason C'mon @Jason - it's intellectually dishonest to call your opinion as fact and then everyone else's opinion as fiction. It's ok to take a position, but that's exactly what it is: a position. Drivers have not yet lost their jobs. "Dara says" doesn't make it fact.

Wild post season... Looks like I predicted the finals and first round, but missed the rest. frankly, I can't believe that sixers eliminated the Celtics and that the cavs beat Detroit 🤷 Amazing parity in the league No more dynasties — for now! Also, can't believe we swept the second round and ECF! Go Knicks go

I hate this post. I don’t believe in taking money off the table until you’ve created real value for real people. And when my moneys off the table, there’s no Ferrari in the back— my mom, my brother and all the people that supported me are getting a wire the next day.

If you’re in/around the administration, you're obligated to keep up the narrative that AI is creating jobs. If you're a Democrat or America First/America Only, you're obligated to spread the job destruction narrative. That's how AOC and Steve Bannon find themselves on the same team. If you're an independent thinker, you understand that we will have massive AI job *displacement* combined with profound abundance (lower prices, shorter work weeks and new jobs) This means extreme winners AND losers, which will require thoughtful change management.
