Excited to see our paper now online science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…! By integrating a dataset of ~116,000 Omicron genomic sequences with epi and human mobility data, we investigate the invasion dynamics of Omicron BA.1 into England and its local dissemination at multiple spatial scales.

This is a hugely collaborative effort by researchers from many institutions across the world. Massive thanks for the contribution from all collaborators, and especially @SCauchemez , @jnaraghwani, @suchard_group, @LemeyLab, @arambaut, @EvolveDotZoo, and @MOUGK for their guidance.

This work, together with previous studies of the Alpha & Delta wave in the UK, provides a unique opportunity for future studies to better understand drivers that shaped their different transmissions patterns and to gain insights for designing more nuanced targeted interventions.
