@DavidPOLeary I got my first office job on the strength of my table waiting experience. My (then) boss said that she knew from it that I could hussle. Teaches you to multi-task, think on your feet, pivot and trouble shoot, work in teams and stay positive. Loved it.

@WordsandGuitar I have a masters that has nothing to do with the work I ended up doing. Unless you're going to go for a doctorate I wouldn't count on a MA to make you employable. Instead, I would look at post-grad diplomas at the community colleges as they often involve internships or co-ops.

I'm tired of the insecurity of freelance work. But also every full-time position requires qualifications I'd have to go back to school to get. Requiring money I don't have. The cycle of realizing anew your BA is basically worthless 🙃
