@Jashmoody Allen doesn't use email; most of the Epstein correspondence is with Woody's wife and his assistant. I've read nothing that suggests Allen was aware of or involved in sex trafficking. If you've read anything that incriminates Allen, please share it.

Woody Allen groomed and abused Soon-Yi Previn while she was still attending high school. They wouldn't go public until she turned 18. This is verified by employees in Allen's building who cleaned up after them when she came over during her lunch break from school.

@CinemaTweets1 I didn't care for it. Throughout the film, I kept thinking of 90s suspense thrillers like The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, Sleeping with the Enemy, Presumed Innocent, and thinking how the film industry is not what it used to be.

Within the first thirty minutes or so of The Housemaid (🌟🌟🌟), I was prepared to hop on this here site & absolutely trash this film. I thought “I haven’t given a movie one star & popped off in awhile”. But about an hour through the film, the plot here takes a sharp nose-dive & everything starts to make a little more sense. The story drives forward, the performances ratchet up, and by the time the end credits hit, I found myself persuaded. My mind? Changed. Yes, that’s right, feast your eyes: I altered my opinion of this film in real time. Now don’t get confused- I’m not suggesting this is as good as like Se7ven or something. Relax. But The Housemaid is ultimately worth watching. As always, my spoiler review ahead . Millie (Sydney Sweeney) has a criminal past and is looking for cash. She interviews & eventually lands a job working for the picture-perfect housewife, Nina (Amanda Seyfried). Nina requires that Millie move in as part of her job and work as a “live in” housemaid. But as you would expect, while Nina seems like a “cool mom” at the jump, the wheels fall off instantly & her behavior toward Millie becomes erratic within no time. This includes Nina’s overarching jealously of her husband Andrew’s (Brendon Sklenar) affection for Millie. Nina’s jealousy of Millie turns this into a sort of cat-and-mouse game between the two…or so we think! (I gave you the Cinema Tweets Guarantee- no spoilers). The story is far, far better than the filmmaking here and let me explain why. Part of the reason I was so initially motivated to write poorly about this film is because this is the perfect example of everthing that’s wrong with filmmaking right now: constant, non-stop editing. It almost made me dizzy. Cut. Cut. Cut. Cut. To quote Stanley Kubrick- what happened to the shot? Could we get one extended shot here? One scene where we aren’t cutting 15 times like a TikTok edit? Am I asking for too much? This is all without mentioning the framing and blocking in each scene made my head hurt & the coloring was atrocious. So why did I ultimately give this film a positive rating? Two reasons: Amanda Seyfried and the story. With regard to the story, halfway through we learn that Nina’s motives aren’t precisely what we think. It’s the vintage bait and switch that I’m sure many have rightfully compared to Gone Girl or The Usual Suspects. It’s a plot-twist that, for a lack of better phrase, calls Seyfried to her highest values. We see Seyfried in multiple lights throughout this film: the perfect housewife, the batshit crazy, jealous partner, all the way down the plotting, scheming, detail-oriented mastermind. In other words, this is Seyfried’s film and a vehicle for her to show us her entire arsenal. Lastly, I wanted to mention a word on Sydney Sweeney’s performance. I think she’s totally average in this film. I have nothing exceptionally positive nor exceptionally negative to say about her performance. I think she holds the center of the film fine but I don’t necessarily believe she elevates this movie in any meaningful way. I know Sweeney’s become a controversial figure over the last few years, but my job- as you all know- is to maintain credibility with my audience. I don’t have a “hot take” with regard to her performance -I think she’s middle of the road. Better than I initially thought.

@ronportnoir Is that Epstein's house? If it is, I understand why Woody Allen described it as Dracula's castle.
