@dlmjnk Realistically, with Slot apparently staying, what do you think happens next season? 22/23 was so poor, and we still didnt lose as many games and ended the season on the up. Even with mitigating factors, I haven't seen that Slot can adapt w/o relying on individual quality.

@The_Mighty_Mojo @Salahcialist @lawrence_bury That's fair. I just don't think it's working currently in that tradition 10 role here. Good player and supremely talented, but seems he will need a lot of physicality and pace around him to reach his full potential in the PL.

@The_Mighty_Mojo @Salahcialist @lawrence_bury Tbh, Wirtz is not a natural 10, or at least didnt exactly play that role for BL. I watch a lot of Bundesliga, and he played from the left (half space) mostly in a very free role.

@Salahcialist @lawrence_bury We don't know that there was no plan to play them together because it has never truly been an option. With a natural 10 like Wirtz there as well it wouldn't be a massive surprise for it to have been a strong option.

Liverpool are prepared to throw away next season too by keeping Arne Slot who’s completely out of his depth. I find it incredibly strange. I’m all for it, but surely Liverpool should be going for Xabi Alonso now that he’s available?

If Liverpool add pace and dynamism in attack and progression from midfield / defence in the summer, they’ll go a long way to fix the issues this season.
Whether Slot implements them effectively remains to be seen, but he won’t be around forever either way.

@A_GymGuy This just kills me. Why does a player have to accept a bench role because that's what fans want, especially if he can play first choice elsewhere? These fans live in an alternate reality I swear, complaining when players leave or don't leave or don't leave the way they want.

Because Jurgen Klopp gave him a career he could have only dreamed of and in return asked for a season from him in a ‘lesser role’ and instead of seeing how that played out he sulked straight off to Saudi Arabia.

@chomakovg At this point, I've just accepted that our style of play and player profiles will fundamentally change. It's not particularly the DM or style I would like to see, but it's the profile the current manager wants for the style he apparently wants to play. It is what it is.

@A_GymGuy Yes, but access to resources and time make an even bigger difference in the American context given that our infrastructure and work culture is different. We commute long hours to work and many don't have access to public transportation. But I get what you're saying to an extent.

@LiamThomo @A_GymGuy With City though, they've managed to keep the manager constant. We've changed an all-timer manager, staff, organization leadership, and now more than half the squad. That's a LOT of change to cope with.

@A_GymGuy being highlighted so much because of how poor this season is. Someone put the leadership group city have/are losing over the last 2 years and it’s just as much as us.
think social media/ access we get and the success shows that group a lot more than those same groups before.
