This is a running contract likely in the range of $100k-$250k. Shoe brands are making a ton of money these days; love to see the athletes getting a piece of the pie. run.outsideonline.com/general/tara-d…

@d9monti @CitiusMag I’m assuming he means a lifestyle shoe 🤷🏻♀️
English

@CitiusMag He's right, of course. Spike sales are tiny compared with the sales of running shoes, basketball shoes, and casual shoes.
But could a sprinter lend his name to a shoe designed for 5-K's, 10-K's and marathons? That's an interesting question...
English

🗣️ “I want my own shoe. I want my own trainer. I’m dead serious. I want a sneaker, ain’t no money in spikes. There’s money in sneakers. Even Michael Johnson didn’t have his own sneaker. I feel like for how many medals we bring back, for the notoriety we get, the fact that that hasn’t happened is crazy to me. I was like, ‘Yeah, that needs to happen.’”
After winning the Olympic 100m gold medal, @LylesNoah is hoping that he can get his own signature shoe – not spike – shoe.

@jasongay Found cycling later in life but has been a phenomenal athlete since she was little. That monster engine from year-round swimming for the win!

I hope every cyclist chasing the dream watched Kristen Faulkner win the gold medal today in the road race. If you haven’t, go watch it.
I believe her story all the way up until this year is one that we all can relate to. She found cycling later in life. She took the path of most resistance to chase what she wanted. She came up short many times. She had opportunities taken away. She was left of selections to races. She even lost things she had earned.
But no matter what she kept going. Kept focused. Kept trying. And most importantly, kept MAKING OPPORTUNITIES.
But today IT DID WORK OUT. And the best part, it worked out exactly the way it should have. This is what she has been doing all along, just now she has it mastered (aka Vuelta stage, National title, now Olympic Gold.)
So keep doing you. Keep grinding. Keep failing. But most importantly know that each time you try hard and come up short you have taken another step closer to your biggest win ever. And just like Kristen, it’s probably bigger than you could ever dream of.

NBC makes it very hard for other media outlets to cover #Paris2024 but I gotta admit from the Gold Zone to Primetime in Paris, this content is much-watch TV. (Minus the commercials which have been terrible.) Suddenly Léon Marchand, who is French, is an American hero. Chapeaux!

Hear me out @NBCSCycling. Daily Tour highlights videos but with:
1. Commentator stage predictions
2. Scenery
3. Historic landmarks
4. @PhilLiggett & @bobkeroll witticisms
5. @sporino’s roadside finds
6. What happened in the race
