Last week, Equity’s General Secretary, Paul W Fleming, appeared on LBC News to address the growing issue of unauthorised filming during theatre performances. His comments follow a post-show call-out from Amber Davies, currently staring in the West End, who publicly condemned an audience member for filming during a show. The incident highlighted how filming without permission jeopardises performers' safety, dignity, and the enjoyment of the whole audience.

@gurfeh_ Please don't spend that much, it's seriously not worth it, despite what people say on here. Find yourself a friend and spend a few hours doing it with a good camera, perhaps even some local photography students / enthusiasts. Be safe though.

@HannahKenifick I think it's a disgrace personally. In what world is £380 for 3 images okay??? That's rent... or 2 car payments... or 3 big shopping trips... even a last minute holiday....

When I left Drama school in 2019, most headshot photographers were about the £250 range. Now it’s £380 for 3 images. Am I being tight or is this really expensive???

Starting to doubt my abilities as a writer. The only reason I’ve received the opportunities I’ve had is because of tokenism. There are far more deserving and better writers who do not have my protected characteristic. I am taking up space.

@EquityUK I can't DM you anymore because I can't afford to pay to subscribe to Twitter (ridiculous anyway). Put a rally on in Wales, South Wales and North Wales. You cannot seriously expect creatives who live all over the country to travel to Manchester or London.

I think ticket offices at railway stations are one of those things that remind of what a society should actually be. Real jobs and real interactions , and community can sometimes be placed above shareholder dividends. It's a choice we can make. #SaveTicketOffices
