@Line_Fault ⬆️ what passes for debate by anti-independence people.
Let’s get to the real issues and have an educated dialogue. I’ve found many errors in my thinking by genuine debate, perhaps you will too.

An independent Alberta could potentially have zero income tax if we don’t have to support Canada.
We have more oil and less population than UAE who have no personal income tax.
Let’s go! #AlbertaIndependence

@cgy_guy @Jamessstanton It would be terrible to have affordable electricity in Alberta...
Too bad solar panels and wind turbines are so ugly
Someone has to make a profit and if they're making a profit then the price could technically be cheaper
English

@Line_Fault @Jamessstanton Hydro Quebec also artificially lowers electricity prices to gain the equalization system. If they charged market rates, the government would gain more income thereby hurting equalization payments.
English

@cgy_guy @Jamessstanton it's also allowed them to have a massive aluminium industry...
7.8¢ to 8¢ per kWh
It's like falling water is a better investment over time vs. burning things that then no longer exist and you have to keep replacing to have something to burn
English

The government knew and didn't care but someone else needed to say something?
You point out legal things that people did... to defend against crimes...
I wish I was dead inside so i could make money spewing BS

Naheed Nenshi is doubling down on his ignorance today in the provincial Legislature! Blaming Danielle Smith again for something she didn’t know about but he did! He is hiding something and protecting his sources and we are onto him!
English

@BertaProudDad @ABDanielleSmith @FreeAlbertaRob @Alberta_UCP So... the government knew and did nothing and it's the minority opposition leaders fault...

English

@BertaProudDad When did the province officially ask for a "better deal"... never ... cool
English

@BertaProudDad What deal do you want?? You want more $30b tax payer pipelines?
English

@BertaProudDad What does you changing the subject have to do with foreign interference ?
English

@cgy_guy Like Norway. It's would be mixed-market economy or social democracy, not communism.
We keep lowering corporate taxes... so it would be the current amount or less.
It would need to go up by 10% or more in case the war ends and prices drop, or solar takes over in a decade.
English

@Line_Fault Nope. Communism isn’t the answer. 🤣
We get royalties and income taxes from oil companies. That’s the best way. The only question is what rate.
English

Income tax as % of total revenue
Alberta is third in 2025, lower before that when the oil price was down...

@Jamessstanton @cgy_guy Hydro-Québec generated $1.7 billion in export revenue in 2025
Français

@cgy_guy who do they sell their hydro to? how much revenue do they get?
English

@Jamessstanton @cgy_guy Quebec is a major exporter of clean, renewable hydroelectricity to the northeastern United States, supplying about 75% of Hydro-Québec's export sales to New York, Massachusetts, and Vermont. Operating 15 major interconnections, power for over 1.4 million U.S. homes
English

@cgy_guy @Jamessstanton Allowing all Canadians to have the same social services is a net positive
English

@Jamessstanton How is it good?? Their hydro resources aren’t included in the formula.
It’s a giant scam. I don’t mind helping the smaller provinces though.
English

@cgy_guy @Jamessstanton That Harper guy that came up with the equizilation math is terrible
English

@Line_Fault Do apologize about the degraded service concerns. Not sure if you are impacted by any type of service interruption at the moment, have you visited rogers.com/outage to see if there any type of reports happening. ^rt
