@JoshMoulton @chicagobars Miss the little corner booth at Aberdeen Tap soothing long shifts with highlife and four roses.

These bars/restaurants are on my radar to do as paintings this year. I receive requests for them often.
From pics I have taken over the years.

The characteristics of the clay used to produce amphorae for winemaking are as diverse as the many types of wood for barrels. The trade is only just beginning to chart and recognise this, reports Roger Morris. thedrinksbusiness.com/2025/11/why-am…

If your bar or restaurant runs Toast plz reply to this tweet with whether your POS is up or down right now (Monday at 6pm). Trying to help some people figure out if it is their version of Toast or all Toast everywhere that is down?

@jwalkermobile Mi Kim is obvs missed directing service. This reads to me like busy weekend service with multiple callouts though at that level no excuses matter :(

Eleven Madison Park
- 20 minute wait for cocktails, had to ask twice where they were
- Dirty plates not bussed, not just our table
- Food served when some of the party was absent from the table
- Little or no descriptions or explanations
- Only 3 “animal” courses
- Had to wave down servers for assistance
- No one checked on us throughout the meal
- Wine and water glasses sat empty
- Friendly if not efficacious or informative service
- Asked questions in absence of information, and got little information
- Course service was slow with a lot of pregnant pauses. Slow (very).
- Food elegant, well executed, with no story or explanation and rarely craveable
- While I’m a fan of group service had no idea who our server was, no one introduce themselves, explained wine pairing options etc
- When asked how many courses, we were told “around 8.”
- Lobster dish was truly exceptional
- Asked for “more bread” as the food was so slow, was told “I’ll check with the pastry chef.”
- Lacquered duck is 10/10, among the best duck dishes I’ve ever had

@TheFlorenceFund @Mid30sManhattan Absolutely — UES, especially between 5th/Madison/Park Ave (first 3 blocks parallel to the park) are an entirely different NYC experience. I've spent a lifetime here.
