Never a headline anyone wants to see. This is especially concerning because email server access tends to be one of those breaches where the full impact isn’t immediately visible. This is the uncomfortable reality of identity sprawl. When dormant users and NHIs hold most of the power, risk becomes structural. NHIs are the real wake-up call. They don’t log in, don’t rotate naturally, and rarely get reviewed. Governance has to evolve past human-centric assumptions.
