We’re taught to hide imperfections. Fix the crack. Replace the worn. Chase perfect. But in Japan, there’s a different idea: Wabi-Sabi. It sees beauty in what’s incomplete. Weathered. Real. Before the internet curated flawless lives, people understood this: The marks of time aren’t flaws. They’re proof something was lived.

My manager has been secretly interviewing candidates to replace me on the team. So I applied for the job using another email. Tomorrow is the final interview. Only one candidate emerged as the top choice He still doesn’t know the candidate is me.

@knowiiiedge a preposition collocation trap… and English only accepts one of them 😏📚 In English we use the fixed pattern: 👉 good at + skill / activity. Ability or skill → good at People / tools → good with Tiny preposition. Big difference 😄

@LondonEngLab @wobbuuu Agreed. It can show up once in a while, however. Qi can be used in scrabble or similar games. It means life force or vital energy from Chinese philosophy. Then there’s Qatar and Iraq.

@XENONAISELSTEIN Angst has been a perfectly valid English word for over a century. We borrowed it from German — like we’ve borrowed thousands of other words.
