@Tears_of_d_GODS @ConfidenceOc @Templegaurd Rooting for you, Raymond. Glad you understand my point and thanks for keeping the conversation respectful. I’m not a parent, but if you’re paying school fees and rent for others (often not by choice), you’ve earned the right to speak on the realities of raising kids.

730k is enough to start a family. Anybody that sees only 250k is part of the problem.

250k is not enough to start a family, let’s start with that first
English

@ConfidenceOc @Tears_of_d_GODS @Templegaurd You can’t eliminate uncertainty — life is too confounding. But you can reduce vulnerability through preparedness and adaptability. I’m not against marriage; I’m saying ₦750k isn’t a realistic threshold for raising kids. Partnership and parenting are different financial decisions
English

@Tears_of_d_GODS @LukeAlade @Templegaurd You can never truly plan for the uncertainty. What makes you think the money you're looking for before you get married will be enough to solve an illness that might occur ? Indeed the people who said everybody is rich online didnt lie. We are too poor to be having such mindset
English

@Templegaurd Especially coming from healthcare (which you drive wonderfully, btw) — one delivery complication or emergency surgery can cost multiples or wipe out several months or years of that income. Parenthood isn’t priced on best-case scenarios. Kids come with real financial uncertainty.
English

@Templegaurd Komodo dragons would probably cost less. Raising kids isn’t just survival expenses (food and clothes); it’s education, exposure, security, and the life you’re positioning them for.
