Nowruz Mubarak to all the Iranian Americans who call New York City home! It was an honor to celebrate Charshanbeh Soori with so many of you in anticipation of spring, renewal, and - now especially - the enduring hope of a new day for the Iranian people. 
Nowruz is typically a time of good feeling, but this year is different. I continue to stand in opposition to this war, and I wish as many moments of joy as possible for all Iranians observing this special holiday.

Wishing ‘Eid Mubarak’ to Muslims while people are being killed and injured on the ground is not a sincere greeting it’s empty rhetoric without accountability. Since the escalation of the Israel–Hamas war that began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas militants killed around 1,200 Israelis and took hostages, the conflict has continued with devastating consequences. By mid‑2025, estimates say tens of thousands of Palestinians have died and many more have been wounded amid intense bombardment and ground fighting in Gaza and surrounding areas.   Even around Eid itself, official UN reporting showed that Israeli bombardments killed dozens of Palestinians including entire families and children in Gaza around March 30–April 4 2025, including strikes on shelters and clinics where displaced families were taking refuge.   Eid al‑Fitr is supposed to be a time of peace, joy, and togetherness in the Muslim world. But millions of Muslims in Gaza and the West Bank have instead faced airstrikes, displacement, humanitarian blockades, lack of water and medicine, and the daily threat of violence.   Holiday greetings mean little without an end to suffering. True peace and goodwill come from actions that protect lives, uphold human rights, and end cycles of violence not from platitudes that ignore the very real pain and loss people are enduring right now.

We wish Eid al-Fitr Mubarak to all our Muslim friends in Israel and around the world #EidMubarak. May this holiday bring peace, joy, and shared hope for brighter days ahead.

Wishing ‘Eid Mubarak’ to Muslims while your forces are responsible for the deaths and suffering of thousands of innocent civilians is deeply contradictory. Eid is a celebration of life, family, and hope—but true joy cannot exist when communities are being bombed, displaced, or oppressed. Peaceful observance of faith and culture is a right, yet actions on the ground show systematic violence and occupation. Words of goodwill ring hollow without accountability, justice, and an end to the ongoing harm inflicted on the very people you claim to greet. Actions, not tweets, define whether a holiday is truly blessed
