Took a photo this morning on the lawn of the Municipal Building in my little town of Maplewood, NJ, showing the Ukrainian flag (displayed for the past three years in support). As I left, I passed a woman who told me, “I’m here to take the same picture.” I live in a great town.

@MLMucci @anthonyzenkus @peterdaou Even if all 3rd party votes went to Harris, she would've still lost. That's how bad of a candidate she was. Lost the popular vote for the first time in decades. We could all easily turn this around if we all voted 3rd party and threw some sand in the gears. Why didn't you?

Make no mistake: Biden, Harris, and Blinken opened the gates of hell for this administration to walk through.

@kay_enne If you didn't realize that it would be worse under Trump, then that's a big problem with yourself. Rage-tweeting at people who *did* know the difference doesn't mean that you were right.

@MLMucci Yeah because they didn’t want to choose between a demented grifter and a genocide enabler. The DNC already did research on why they didn’t have the votes, and found Gaza was a HUGE reason.

@MLMucci @peterdaou How did it help Trump, when if you took every 3rd party vote and applied it to Harris, she STILL wouldn’t have won? You’re using the same KHive talking points from 2024 that have been refuted for a long time now 😂

@MLMucci @peterdaou The candidate knew full well that continuing the Biden line on Palestine and Israel could lose her the election, but she did it anyway. Blaming voters for her loss when clearly she refused to do the one thing that polls showed could help her win is a choice, I guess.

Umberto Eco, who owned 50,000 books, had this to say about home libraries: "It is foolish to think that you have to read all the books you buy, as it is foolish to criticize those who buy more books than they will ever be able to read. It would be like saying that you should use all the cutlery or glasses or screwdrivers or drill bits you bought before buying new ones. There are things in life that we need to always have plenty of supplies, even if we will only use a small portion. If, for example, we consider books as medicine, we understand that it is good to have many at home rather than a few: when you want to feel better, then you go to the 'medicine closet' and choose a book. Not a random one, but the right book for that moment. That's why you should always have a nutrition choice! Those who buy only one book, read only that one and then get rid of it. They simply apply the consumer mentality to books, that is, they consider them a consumer product, a good. Those who love books know that a book is anything but a commodity."

@peterdaou Is your "whatabout" to divert from the point of my tweet some sort of admission that, yes, not supporting Harris over Gaza just helped Trump, who was *worse* for the people of Gaza, all Palestinians, and peace in the Middle East?

Too many people are hopelessly stuck in binary thinking. They assume because I opposed war criminals Biden and Harris that I voted for Republicans. I didn't. I'm an independent who supports third party and indie candidates.

These are the very eggs that Ben is posting about. Look at his complaint, then look at the box again. If you’re one of the people that often falls for the kind of mendacious tripe that the likes of “Ben” post, then I think it’s time you reevaluated your life choices.

Britain has been a Christian nation for over 1,400 years. Through wars, plagues, and countless kings, Easter has always been celebrated. Yet now, Cadbury won’t even use the word ‘Easter’ on their eggs. When did celebrating British traditions become controversial?

@MLMucci @austeni True, but it has changed quite a lot. Change can be hard for people. Fear does not make people fascist, ignorance does. Nobody should be threatened by an Iftar. But it is perceived alongside wider political changes where there are legitimate concerns. We should not feed fear.

This is deeply shocking. Muslims praying in Trafalgar Square is interpreted as “an attempt at dominance” by Farage. The fascist playbook is always to portray the host nation as a victim of migrants who are seeking to “take it over”.
William Dalrymple@DalrympleWill

Farage channeling Oswald Mosley to stir up hatred against minorities. There have been celebrations of Christmas, Chanukah & Diwali in Trafalgar Square. Now its the turn of Britain’s Muslims to celebrate their festival- only to face pure Islamophobic hate speech. Shameful.

I went to the USSR in 1990 as a student. It’s helped me understand this craziness. Red is a big color in Russia. It signifies beauty, peace, love, excellence, etc. It also looks like they spent about $10 per costume which also tracks.
