@kellyjohnsonhas @konstructivizm Actually, 40 billion kilometers is 0.00423 light years. Not very close to a light year at all!

@konstructivizm It has moved almost 1 light year but not quite, in 47 years.

Right now, more than 24 billion kilometers from Earth, a tiny spacecraft is drifting through the darkness—Voyager 1, the most distant object we've ever sent into space.
Launched in 1977, it's been traveling for nearly half a century, carrying with it a golden record filled with Earth’s sights, sounds, and greetings—just in case it meets intelligent life.
No spacecraft has ever gone farther. No signal takes longer to reach us—over 22 hours just for a one-way message. Yet it still speaks to us.
Voyager 1 is a silent witness to the vast unknown… a lonely ambassador of humanity, moving deeper into the stars.
Just imagine: something we built is out there… forever exploring.

@ddmeyer Dan, I retired after 43 years as an educator. Ten as an elementary and middle school teacher, twenty as an elementary principal, and thirteen working for the Utah State Board of Education. My first day goal is that teachers will focus all year on mathematical understanding.

@SenMikeLee Senator Lee, I respectfully disagree with your assessment of the President's situation. You seem to have no understanding nor empathy for the sacrifice he is making. Please consider the teachings of Him who you purport to follow and show some kind of Christian charity.

Random 4:30 am thought: If you’re of a certain age, and you grew up in one place, there’s a sequence of numbers that could be used to identify where that place was.
For me, those numbers were, if I recall correctly, 2, 4, 5, 7, 27, 38, and 56, and to a lesser extent, 6, 8, 9, 10, and 12.
If you are younger than a certain age (the age possibly depending on where you grew up), you will have no idea what I’m talking about.
Okay, back to sleep.
