I've been using Poetry for #python package dev, but it's no longer tenable (>3000s for resolving dependencies). What are people frequently using now? I've been uninstalling poetry and env's all morning trying to get it to work, and it's a waste of time at this point.

Wetlab work is done for today. Now to shift gears to some hardware tinkering. Working on a tube tumbler with magnetic attachments for whatever tube you want (1.5mL - 50mL). One rotor, eight positions for adapters, designed to hold anything and extremely silent rotation. :)

Dear community, we know that you are eagerly waiting for the release of the Turing Pi 2. But, our hands are tight by @PayPal. For almost a year they keep frozen our funds necessary to continue operations and launch TPI2. Please share this thread to raise awareness...

At NCM 2021, @miles_benton shared how his son was born prematurely & was suffering from suspected meningitis. He discussed how affordable, portable sequencing could offer a potential solution to help identify the causative pathogen quicker: bit.ly/3yKiQ4n

@kirk3gaard If you are going to risk it, try making the laminations perpendicular to the force. A small stout print can be very strong. Increasing your infill % wouldn't hurt. Good luck to you and your centrifuge

Did you 3d print adapters for a centrifuge? Did you and the centrifuge survive? Any considerations regarding the print settings and materials. #3dprints #labware

@timClicks Depending on what you want to culture? There's yeast based and soy too. Look at LB agar or TSA

I don't suppose it's possible to buy plant-based nutrient agar?

@CedarWarman There's something that moba-xterm does that at first seems really weird, but once you are used to it, you really miss it elsewhere. When you select (highlight) a word or block of text, it's automatically copied. Then just a right click to paste. Should be everywhere.

Every text editor should be able to do R Studio's double click to select word then quote button to immediately quote both sides of the selected word. It's so convenient!! #RStats

Calling microbiologists! Would you be interested in attending a @mrcclimb workshop around use of machine learning and GPU accelerated applications in microbial genomics or other omics? Particular focus on implementation. If so, give me a reply and state in person (UK) or virtual!

@Psy_Fer_ @MathStorey @rrwick Author popping in from the sidelines - let me know if you encounter any issues as you make your way through the book. I think that Rust has a strong future ahead with bioinformatics and I would love to help where I can!

@rrwick To be fair, strings took a LONG time to get good in python. Now in 3.9 land, things like f strings make things so much nicer. I'm sure the same will happen for rust. This is helpful though, thanks :) How did you learn it? just the general stack overflow/docs? or online thingo?

Also, Polypolish was the first tool I've written in @rustlang. I'm still new to the language, but I like it a lot so far. Hopefully more Rust in my future! (7/8)
