The media is an important stakeholder in our journey towards the realization of UHC. It will play a greater role in dissemination to the public on the ongoing reforms in the healthcare sector. Led senior Ministry officials including PS Harry Kimutai, Ag. DG Patrick Amoth, the leadership of the Social Health Authority (SHA) leadership and the Transition Team to hold two separate interactive sessions with media editors and reporters as part of preparations to transition from the National Health Insurance Fund to the Social Health Authority. This engagement aimed to provide a deeper understanding of, not only how SHA will work but the broader reforms and their implications. The Ministry of Health is committed to supporting accurate and comprehensive media coverage of the reforms currently taking place for accurate reporting for the benefit of the citizens of Kenya. #AfyaNyumbani

The Conference is part of the Society's 60th Anniversary celebrations. Emphasized on the critical role of pharmacists in our quest for UHC, especially in ensuring security of health products. In recognition of this important role,community pharmacy service providers will now be integrated into the Social Health Insurance Fund ecosystem under the Social Health Authority. The government, through the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB), remains committed to implementation of appropriate regulatory measures to achieve the highest standards of safety, efficacy, and quality for all drugs, chemical substances, and medical devices, whether locally manufactured, imported, exported, distributed, sold, or used. #AfyaNyumbani
