Whether it’s an interaction with a person or a tweet or anything else, I ask myself, if mum was stood over my shoulder and watching, would she feel proud of me and say, “yes, that’s my girl”. If the answer is no then I know I could and should have done better in that moment 2/2

Anyone else sense check their actions by the “mum test”? Here are photos of me and my lovely mum. I’ve been working for nearly 40 years in vet nursing and now policing and I’ve always reflected on the “mum test” to decide if what I’ve done is something I can be proud of 1/2

Thank you to all of you who supported me in 2025. It was largely defined by my cancer battle and then my cancer free diagnosis. I’ve since gained valuable perspective on life and priorities and what truly matters Wishing you all a 2026 filled with love, luck, health & happiness

When terrible things happen it can be easy to believe the world is terrible; it's important to remember that there is far more good than evil. While there are a small number of people who commit horrific acts, there are many more people who will save others from them. 43 year old father of two Ahmed al Ahmed tackled one of the terrorists and disarmed him. He was shot twice. His act of incredible heroism saved lives today. He is the best of us.

Hanukkah is a Festival of Light. It celebrates a miracle where a single jar of oil kept a menorah lit for eight days. Thought I'd just say that on this bleak day.

Absolutely heartbreaking news is emerging of an unspeakable atrocity on Bondi Beach in Sydney, where a Chanukah event was taking place. As details become clearer, please join me in praying for everyone affected by this heinous act.

Truly horrific scenes coming out of Australia. But also videos of incredible selfless bystander heroism by ordinary people. My thoughts and prayers with everyone in Australia especially the victims, their families, local communities and the emergency services 🙏🇦🇺

@claireroberts01 Definitely. It was so moving watching her speak, especially when she talked of her little ray of sunshine. I pray that boy is doing ok. Goodness knows how you navigate a tragedy like this at such a tender age 😢

Just watched #24hoursinpolicecustody 22 yrs service but I was shocked by these awful crimes.Thank goodness for the brave AFOs responding to the trauma and confronting the danger head on. Plus the tenacity of the detectives. RIP Gary and Joshua - so sorry this happened to you 😢

@claireroberts01 Me too 😢. And that scene of the man calling his brother having learned his nephew was deceased and the phone he was ringing was at the other scene, where the other deceased man was found. It’s unbelievable what awful hurt and trauma some people are capable of inflicting

@MelSimmonds3 The thing that hit me most was how the AFO’s having got the couple out of the hotel room they then had to talk to the children about their toys.

@toniwriter @DC_Police Glad you had a positive experience with the officer but very sorry you’ve experienced such. A violation in the first place. You were absolutely correct in reporting it. Hope you’re ok 🙏
