New Last Epoch season starting tomorrow. While the season content does not look original, the quantity and quality seems good. Considering playing. Will you be playing?

one of the biggest issues with the new skill gems is that compared to swords and axes (especially uniques), staves, maces, and sceptres SUCK for attacking unless you're an endurance charge stacker.

Not sure im a huge fan of Elemental Hit being shipped as obviously broken and overpowered. Most of the fun in Path of Exile 1 these days is figuring out what is going to be good, not being spoonfed the best build before we even start.

@NeverSinkDev Im not sure AI will be able to replace a lot of creative jobs at least in engineering bc so many decisions or not just A or B. The standard tasks is not a problem for any engineer I talk with if they get outsourced to AI (In Denmark we already outsouce those to other countries)

I've been debating if I wanted to post this... because this is genuinely TERRIFYING me. I've been using Claude Code with Opus 4.6 and the leap it made over the last year is terrifying. Context: I'm a developer with well over 15 years of experience. I'm using the AI for an evolution sandbox simulation. The AI frequently 1shots tasks that would take me 4-16 hours. I'm steering it and creating a lean architecture by guiding the AI and writing the main classes myself. Right now is probably the sweet spot where your knowledge as an experienced developer can turn you into a 100x developer. However, that's not the point. I'm afraid (and I hope to be wrong) that within the next 5-10 years any developer, manager, most research and most jobs that we see as 'high profile thinking tasks' will become obsolete. This is honestly a future I dread. The cultural consequences will be absurd. What's your take? PS1: I'm withholding usage of AI for anything creative and critical (including my filter/filterblade projects). PS2: I'm training myself no matter what project I use to always have at least 2-3 hours of writing code by hand every day to stay sharp, but practically I can now be around 10x more efficient, by delegating agents and guiding them to build the right architecture. PS3: If you think creative or management jobs are not at risk, unfortunately I believe chances are very high that you're wrong.

@BigfryTV one thing I don't get about root: Where's the money coming from? I feel like every "we got a bunch of investor money and will monetize later" company eventually follows the same fate, Discord was also cool until it wasn't

Okay. After using Root for most of the day today. Here's my thoughts. TLDR: It's a great alternative that needs a bit of time to grow legs. Will be testing more, but I feel good about it. Pros - Layout is a bit different, but feels VERY Discord-like. - All of Discords major features (Channels, Permissions, Streamer Mode, Game Overlay) are all present and work great - I can have a DM open on the same screen as General chat, with your voice call popped out all on one monitor (Can even have two DMs open at once) - The Official Root Server is already testing apps like Feedback Trackers, Polls and Raid Event Planners (Looks REAL NICE) Cons - Voice Quality is not as good as Discord - Screenshare Quality is 720P @ 30FPS. Needs to be bumped up a bit.

I've been dabbling with setting up a @rootappofficial server. Their layout is definitely a bit archaic compared to Discord but I REALLY like that I can upload custom images for each channel. Now I need a calendar that works like the WoW calendar. It's so nice for events.

Nope, the Michael Jordan of table tennis is still active and Chinese. Bobrow is just an American commentator who knows a few tricks, like those snake shots that are nearly impossible to pull off in a real match. It’s funny how American people avoid giving China credit where it’s due. They made a movie with Timothée Chalamet about an obscure player nobody’s heard of (Marty Supreme), yet the production ignored Chinese legends entirely. They reached out to Brazilian and German players—and they gave Timo Boll (the German player) a cameo, but didn't bother contacting the Chinese superstars who have written the history of the sport. 😅 If you want to see the world's table tennis king in action, just watch Wang Chuqin’s artillery shelling. Unmatched. 🤩

Time for the annual D4 bashing: This is also where D4 completely fails imo. The whole idea of aspects being bound to items + having higher stats than rares qualifying as 'legendary' is imo such a disappointment. Unique design is outrageously underwhelming in D4.

A positive observation about the last POE2 league: A lot more uniques are now interesting in PoE2. The cultivated vaal uniques, atziri drops, all the buffed uniques are pretty solid. It's still a long shot from what PoE1 offers in terms of uniques, but progress is visible. Also: this may be nostalgia, but I D2 uniques always make me feel very good, despite how simple most of them are!

LCP has been cooking this split! 3 Champions have been played for the first time ever as Support in Tier 1. The Mel and Nidalee (a personal favourite) got the W and the Zaahen is something my eyes will never forget!
