Is XChat a real threat to WhatsApp and Telegram? @chat just announced the standalone app, now listed on the App Store with an April 17, 2026 release What we know so far 👇 • this looks like more than just improved DMs • messaging is being pushed into its own product layer • the direction feels much closer to WhatsApp or Telegram than the old 𝕏 inbox • calls, groups, and more control suggest a fuller messaging experience • the goal seems to be making messaging a more natural part of daily 𝕏 use A lot of us already use 𝕏 every day but its messaging never really felt on the level of the big apps. It worked, but longer conversations still often ended up on Telegram anyway, adding an extra step almost every time. So this feels like 𝕏 trying to solve one of its weak spots. Smart move in my opinion. What do you think?
