We asked @itszach, Founder & CEO of @veryai, what is the worst-case scenario that high-security human verification is actually preventing? "One of the most dystopian futures we see is that facial biometrics start to become increasingly less valuable. If deepfake technology keeps increasing in accuracy and we aren't able to develop high enough detection to tell if an image or video is artificially generated, then facial biometrics just become worthless in many cases. That's the worst case scenario, where we're not able to detect these things. Palm biometrics are a hedge in that." "It's also just a general theme of trust online eroding, especially on the social platforms we use today. Twitter, Instagram, Reddit." "That future isn't that far away, based on the rate of generation we see today. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out. We're all online chronically, and most people probably see that the experience isn't as good as it was 12 months ago. If we aren't able to provide solutions to counter those things, whether it's their replies or simply securing accounts, we'll probably abandon some of these aspects of the social platforms we use today."

Some personal news: I've joined the @VeryAI business development team. After years on both sides of crypto, capital markets at GSR and building a Layer 1 at Gear, one thing became obvious. Every market runs on trust, and the future belongs to systems that can prove it. My thesis: authenticity is becoming the internet's most important currency. Not a feature, a category of its own. Social platforms are drowning in bots. AI agents transact on your behalf and are about to outnumber humans online. Payments still treat identity as a checkbox.
