@ICT_MrP I’m secondary and always said no to primary. But now I’m SEN secondary I think more maybe I could? But I like specialising in one or two subjects, and saying goodbye to the kids for 24 hours after 50 minutes….

@halfironmum I’m doing exactly this in a couple of weeks. Husband is driving me to the airport and picking me back up five days later. He is looking after the teens and the house. I’m all inclusive with no demands. I am so excited it’s unreal

@ICT_MrP Sure start and then the start of Children’s Centres - that was making a difference. Health visitors, SALT, midwives, children’s workers, all under one roof. The Tories tore that apart and it’s starting to show :-(

@robeastaway I hated sparx at my previous school and refused to use it. I did old fashioned homework books for my classes which I collected in and marked and gave feedback on. Took me more time, but they put in more effort when they saw me doing it and saw the purpose. Sparx just ticks a box

I feel sorry for my Y10 daughter, an hour of tedious repetitive Sparx Maths exercises for homework that take twice as long to do because she has to do them online and write them out. Sucking all the joy and creativity out of maths. Makes me weep.

@flickhwilliams I got on the bus with a newborn 18 years ago, a week post C-section, bus stopped and a wheelchair needed the space. I asked the driver to wait whilst I folded my pram and I held my newborn. The driver was extra careful and stopped for longer at the stop I needed to get off.

On this bus with a pushchair folded behind me by asserting my rights. Driver started with ‘another bus due shortly’ line, I reminded him of the law, then he asked family to move with “Unfortunately she has priority”. Whole bus glared at me entire journey. Sick of it.

During the summer I really don't drive, and therefore don't need to spend £50 a week on petrol like I do during term time. I always save it to spend on my "back to school" haul. The post man has delivered the goods.

@thefish64 The first thing my son said was “mum my lowest grade was a 5 - and it wasn’t Spanish!” He had spent weeks convincing himself he would get a 3 or an F, and he got a 6. It’s come up in every conversation he’s had about results. Think he’s a little proud!
