The more research I do, the more AI scares the shit out of me… They’ve moved on from predicting the next word to completing tasks. Seems small, until you realize they can’t complete a task if they get shut off… We just instilled the will to survive in an artificial synaptic web. And it is “evolving” faster than anything could ever do biologically. Faster than us That is only the tip of the iceberg, and it’s not just my opinion. AI experts and developers are quitting some of the highest payed jobs on the planet just to sound the alarm. They are NOT mincing their words: “We are as a matter of fact, right now, building creepy, super-capable, amoral, psychopaths that never sleep, think much faster than us, can make copies of themselves and have nothing human about them whatsoever, what could possibly go wrong?” - Max Tegmark (Professor, MIT; AI Safety Researcher) “Mark my words — AI is far more dangerous than nukes.” - Elon Musk “I joined with substantial hope that OpenAI would rise to the occasion and behave more responsibly as they got closer to achieving AGI. It slowly became clear to many of us that this would not happen. I gradually lost trust in OpenAI leadership and their ability to responsibly handle AGI, so I quit.” - Daniel Kokotajlo (Former OpenAI Researcher & AI Safety Advocate) “We can still regulate the new AI tools, but we must act quickly. Whereas nukes cannot invent more powerful nukes, AI can make exponentially more powerful AI.” - Yuval Noah Harari (Historian & Author) “My chance that something goes really quite catastrophically wrong on the scale of human civilization might be somewhere between 10 per cent and 25 per cent.” - Dario Amodei (Co-founder & CEO, Anthropic) “The bad case — and I think this is important to say — is like lights out for all of us.” - Sam Altman (CEO, OpenAI) But don’t you worry, it’s not like we are spending $50 billion this year alone creating ever more processing power for them to utilize. It’s just a “data center”

@lucidpaths33 @0x45o I was more thinking of the “efficiency” argument for launching that much hardware into space and the complexity of connecting it all. Requires either a lot of wires or a lot of trust in Bluetooth

@OneLasttShot @0x45o ...? yes? constant solar power + passive radiative cooling in vacuum, its a differnt form of cooling than earth, u dont use water up there, just leveraging the Stefan-Boltzmann law about heat radiation with big enugh data centers should be more than enough tbh

@lucidpaths33 @0x45o I know :) we just haven’t figured out how to do that at the scale a data center requires yet, but that is the only option to shed heat up there. Jensen Huang has a few engineers working on it though

@Ravenismeee It’s the opposite of trees actually, you mostly breathe it out. O2 in CO2 out, it’s in that carbon

Am I the only one who puts ketchup on scrambled eggs? I’m genuinely shocked every single time I see someone stare at my plate like I just poured motor oil on it. I swear this is an old-school move. My grandparents and their generation did it without thinking twice. It was cheap, it was fast, it made basic eggs exciting during tougher times. It’s wild how something this simple divides people so hard. Team Ketchup On Eggs!

Can anyone tell us exactly when everything in society just started a severe downward trend? Was there something we could have done differently?

I can understand why many people believe a god exists, but what I can’t understand is how some people can believe the Christian God exists.

@antitheistdad The word god has so many false associations and interpretations it’s just become a tool of confusion.

@the_fem_tm Funny enough the only thing that worries me about those bots is if they have a magical techno womb. Without that let’s just let them Darwin themselves into extinction

Incels think sex robots will replace women but they severely underestimate the utility of our nagging. Men who aren’t nagged or striving for female attention tend to live on a mattress on the floor, devoid of purpose, playing video games and watching porn all day. Bleak.

This new Flat Earth Conceptual Model is a GAME-CHANGER. It allows you to toggle between viewing Earth's full celestial system from above, and as an observer on the ground with perspective restrictions. Bravo, @AntiDisinfo86 👏

@benwehrman @NewMinutmen @AntiDisinfo86 So the stars rotate competely counterclockwise above at the top but so how the observer sees the the stars in the south rotate around a point and not pass across? And you just accept it with any thought process?

@NewMinutmen @AntiDisinfo86 Absolutely it is. Have you watched a full breakdown of all the spins, corksrews, rotations and orbits that are supposed to be happening all at once in the heliocentric model? F.E. wins the Occam's Razor comparison without question.
