The following is something my lovely wife of 45 years asked me to post and I wholeheartedly support. ============= An open letter to Elon Musk.@elonmusk Dear Mr Harriman. I know you understand the reference I just made. I was 10 or 11 when I first read The Man Who Sold the Moon, and it's companion short Requiem, by Robert A Heinlein, or as I like to think of him Admiral Dad. I will never travel to Mars, I am too old. I will never be able contribute to Space X beyond buying merch. But, I am going to ask you to please build a Requiem memorial on Mars. I'm sure there are millions of people like me, who gazed up at the stars and dared to dream and envision a future everyone told them was impossible. I know you are one of those stargazers. Ashes of the dreamers could be placed at the memorial, just something the size of a tylenol capsule. For all those who never got a chance to make the trip. Thank you for opening a door to the stars. Requiem by Robert Lewis Stevenson Under the wide and starry sky, Dig the grave and let me lie. Glad did I live and gladly die, And I laid me down with a will. This be the verse you grave for me: Here he lies where he longed to be; Home is the sailor, home from sea, And the hunter home from the hill. Wife of Outis

America was settled by Europeans, so Europe felt they were superior to those crazy idiots they got rid of. But we did so well, they could not free themselves from their stupidity, Twice in one century, without our help. Japan and the US had no common bond and no similar reason to look down on each other. We were both alien to each other, but got to know how tough and resilient the other was in combat.

Germany and Japan were adversaries of the USA in World War II and were both defeated. 1948: America and Britain saved Berlin from Stalin's blockade by providing supplies via an airlift for 400 days. Today, Germans are critical to hostile toward America. 2011: The USA provided aid to Japan after the tsunami. Japan is now a close ally of the USA. Two similar stories, two different outcomes. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berlin_Blโ€ฆ

STOP SCROLLING. Japan needs to tell you something. Sendai Airport. March 2011. Buried under tsunami mud. Cars. Boats. Houses. Bodies of our hopes. "Months to reopen," the experts said. US forces did it in DAYS. DAYS!!! And the first plane that landed carried food for OUR children. America, today is YOUR birthday. But 15 years ago, you gave JAPAN a rebirth-day. HAPPY 250th!!! ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐ŸŽ†

Wormhole X-Treme! proved that SG-1 could laugh at itself better than anyone else. A hilarious, clever 100th episode filled with inside jokes, unforgettable quotes, and the brilliant idea of using a TV show as cover for the real Stargate Program. #SaveStargate #Stargate

We made the film INDEPENDENCE DAY patriotic by divine intervention because the producer is a woke Hillary Clinton fund raiser who is not patriotic at all! He thought he was making fun of Americaโ€™s spirit. Boy does he regret casting me. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ Up yourrrrs, Roland!

It does not exist because we were successful in helping Europe. They could not do it themselves and it sticks in their craw that they needed help from those they see as an inferior people. We screw up their sense of superiority. After WW2, we could have seized all of Japan and turned it into a protectorate like the Philippines was. But we didn't. Let them keep their Emperor, kept the Russians out, gave them a new Constitution built more or less on American ideal, but respecting Japan's culture and traditions, and rebuilt their war ravaged industries. And when they needed help, like in 2011, we were there. Our nation came from European settlers, and the Europeans looked down on us for that. Maybe it is for leaving Europe in the first place, who knows. Japan fought a war with us, and we kicked their ass, although it was one hell of a tough slog. So the Japanese respect us, in a way Europe never will. And we respect the Japanese for their spirit, their tenacity, and their ability to build back better than where they started. In each other, we find no worse foe, nor better friend. Which is why we are Tomodachi.

There are so many people who hate the fact Japan and America are the best of friends. It's sad, really, these people are mentally incapable of understanding the deep, Nietzschean bond shared between two entities who have engaged in mortal combat and come through to not only respect, but to love one another. One would have thought such an incredible bond would exist with our allies from WWII, with the UK, France, ect...but it does not. One would have thought China would have forged such a bond with us, after we fought to expel Japan from their country...but it does not. Out of all the countries in the world, only Japan has created such a momentous, incredible bond. No other nation comes close.

Iโ€™m sick of these types of dog whistles casually hinting at killing the president. I called this demon out on this one. I donโ€™t care if itโ€™s a cartoon or not. He blocked me. Make him feel special by making him block you too.

@joncoopertweets To be clear, your idea of a โ€œgreat 250th birthday celebrationโ€ is to strap the president of the United States to a giant firework that will inevitably explode and kill him? You fucking serious bro?

In 2,000 years, will the British and American global dominance be remembered by historians as two sequential phases of a singular Anglo-American empire, or more like Greece-to-Rome, a civilizational phase with two connected but distinct entities?
