That’s exactly how I discovered music as a kid…through Swiss Cottage Music Library, which had an amazing collection of LPs and scores, full of all kinds of rarities. Like you, I can still picture a lot of the LP covers…

The old Norwich Library not only had an amazing recorded music division but also the scores available (incl these sonatas) meant teenage me (who could not afford them) could study them. Music provision of this kind is now threadbare.
