What’s one thing AI still does surprisingly badly?

@alexcooldev We joke about calorie tracking apps, but it’s still a massive market with plenty of people willing to pay. Sure, the competition is tough - but damn, why not try? Just because there’s already a bakery in your neighborhood doesn’t mean there’s no room for another one.

But it worked, bro. 😌 Disclaimer: I’m not sure it would work for another AI calorie-tracking app.

@arvidkahl I’d add an asterisk here. In the early stages, when you’re still iterating on your MVP/POC, tests can slow you down. Write them once you’ve validated the idea and know you have something worth documenting.

If you build with AI and don’t have unit and integration tests set up, you’re gonna have a bad time.

i still can't process the explosion we're having if you aren't where you want to be yet just keep showing up every day this is a result of years of failures (made my first app in 2023)

Woke up to $18.98 in renewals + 3 new trials from my older apps. Day 2 of rebuilding the failed one: yesterday I settled the home screen UX and the main user loop. The old apps are proof I learned something. This 3rd one feels like it could be my breakout.
