My Dear Peeps ~ I recently flew from my solitary home on Maui, Hawaiʻi to Bainbridge Island, Washington (where I originally hail from) in order to help a friend who is recovering from shattering her ankle, surgery, etc. This was the first time I had flown and been out in the "wild" since 2019. I am eternally grateful for ALL OF YOU who continue to speak and Tweet and learn about the ongoing risk of airborne diseases. In the past two weeks, I have been in indoor environments with countless thousands of humans and I have seen a paltry grand total of 4 people wearing masks. It is truly excruciating to perceive how ignorant our fellow human beings are. I come here to our rarified Twittersphere every day to remind myself of what is actually going on so that I am able to stay awake and aware and to act in ways that protect myself and others. I am so grateful for YOU.
