@FreddyLA7 Drive through Amish country in Pennsylvania and listen to people speak the old German Palatine and Swabian language (mixed with random English) to each other. You can’t skip a summer day in Central Park NYC though.

Ecuador’s draw with Curaçao means Germany has already secured first place in the group before the final matchday. That makes our game against Ecuador in New Jersey next Thursday pretty much meaningless. I think we’re going to change our plans and head to a different game instead.

@BFordLancer You can’t go wrong. If you make it over to Cody go to the “Old Trail Town”. Best thing is to find a secluded area and just enjoy the sounds of the wild.

@com_oceania @version69j The only dumb thing is the fake story behind it since Billy Bowlegs lived in the Everglades and wasn’t a pirate. Otherwise, its a wild party.

@version69j Always wanted to go! Billy Bowlegs in Ft. Walton is fun but I feel like Gasparilla is just 100x better for some reason.

@yoamomonstruos I just assume we aren’t good and would have lost already so it has been amusing to see them win a couple matches.

Real question, does america really think it has a chance at winning a world cup?

@raylehmann I had no idea we were even playing today or who it was against or if they were good or not. We won, but I really don’t even know what that means or how the tournament is structured.

The thing that drives U.S. haters mad about USMNT success is that there's actually nothing you can say about them that would upset an American. The typical American viewer's response to winning games in the World Cup is to think it's delightful, but also hilarious.

@rooteruditorum I had no idea the US was even playing today or who the other team would be. I enjoyed seeing our team win. I did not realize that it would cause people to be so emotional. It is a game played with a ball.

The loss sucks, but we can sleep ok as Aussies knowing our fans and crowds will ever be as cringy as every cutaway to Americans looked. I’ll keep my dignity thanks #Socceroos

@PatMcAfeeShow Lawn companies have told everyone that they have to nuke their yards with insecticide and grub control instead of letting the birds do the job and it kills all the eggs.

@TeamBluesman There were lightning bugs flying around the parks in NYC when I was there for work. Fairly certain the moon does not disappear either. Stars are probably the main difference. Less visible.

Are there really people in the big cities that have never seen the night sky? The moon, stars, or even something as simple as a lightning bug?

@JUN_JUN_3DCAD I used one when I was working 12 hour shifts in the sun when it was 115 F heat index so it is more of a utility item for me. A baseball hat doesn’t protect my neck and ears from sunburn.

What's up Texans! 👋 Recently I’ve been wanting a hat, and I’m honestly shocked by how cool the cowboy hat is. I always thought it was just for riding horses in movies, but do real Texans actually wear them every day? I usually don’t wear hats at all, but this one hit different 🤠 Texans, tell me — do you wear cowboy hats in real life? Work? Going out? Or mostly for rodeo/special occasions?

@therealmissjo Some of us aren’t mentally programmed and only drink water when we are thirsty. I don’t understand the giant metal bottles that sound like a hammer hitting a gong when they are dropped.

The American obsession with water bottles is bizarre. I have an American friend who, when she came to stay with me in France, could not go anywhere without a water bottle. Even from my home (plentiful water) on a 10 min walk to a cafe for breakfast (free water). She insisted on lugging some stupid water bottle she had actually brought with her from the US!

Is everyone in Europe dehydrated? Nobody carries water bottles. Water is expensive everywhere and not free at most restaurants. Bathrooms are scarce and often cost money to use. My theory is everyone is ok with this bleak situation because they’re all massively dehydrated, rarely pee, and don’t know the glory of what 1+ gallons of water consumed per day feels like to the human body.
