🚨The biggest crypto bill in US history just moved one step closer to becoming a law. Coinbase announced that a deal has been reached on the most controversial part of the Crypto Market Structure Bill that was stuck in the US Senate for months. Banks did not want crypto companies to offer rewards or yield to their customers because it would pull money away from banks and make it harder for them to give out loans. The bill was completely stuck because of this. Crypto companies can still offer rewards to their customers but only based on real usage of the platform. They cannot offer rewards that work exactly like bank interest. Banks got more restrictions added but crypto companies protected the most important part, the ability to reward their users. This is a massive deal because crypto companies in the US have been operating without clear rules for years. Crypto Market Structure Bill will finally give them legal clarity and make it much easier for crypto to grow inside the United States. Trump has made crypto regulation a priority since day one of his second term. This is now one step closer to becoming reality.

I oppose any laws requiring cars to have technology that shuts them down if the driver is drunk. The reason I oppose them is that I utterly reject the moral logic on which they are based. The moral logic for these laws is that they will kill some innocent people, but they will save more people than they kill. Sure, there will be the person who was drugged by someone trying to harm them and whose car doesn't let them flee, and there will be the person who is trying to rush an injured person to the hospital whose demeanor will cause their car not to work. But there will be lots more people who tried to drive drunk who will be stopped. And innocent people they would have crashed into will be saved. But we don't get to actually kill innocent people to save other people. Suppose there was a doctor would save a dozen of innocent people every year because he's the best doctor there is, but in exchange he demands the right to kill one innocent person every year who would otherwise have lived. We would be moral monsters if we hired such a doctor. We don't get to play god like that. This law will actively kill some innocent people every year. We shouldn't pass laws that actively kill innocent people, even to save a greater number of other innocent people.

Hi everyone. Kate here… I know this seems unhinged, but oral sex isn’t talked about enough. Oral sex carries genuine risks. HSV-1 (oral herpes) can be transmitted to the genitals and vice versa. HPV passed through oral sex is now the leading cause of oropharyngeal cancers in the US (surpassing tobacco). And oral gonorrhea in particular is becoming antibiotic-resistant at alarming rates. The bacteria in saliva can also disrupt the vaginal microbiome, and studies have linked receptive oral sex to higher rates of bacterial vaginosis. Oral sex is great… the problem is that we don’t treat it seriously. People who would never skip a condom will go down on a new partner without a second thought. People don’t get tested for oral STIs…. or talk to partners about dental health, recent illness, or when they were last screened. It’s a public health gap. I’m grateful I have a partner who takes my health, his health, and our collective health seriously. Be safe lovely humans ❤️
