The wheels are turning, the vault has opened. See below our first of many papers to come on the very persistent effects of “temporary” noise-induced hearing loss. Good science is hard to come by. We are so proud of our team, led by @Jane_Mondul biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

We're excited to welcome @Jane_Mondul as an Assistant Professor to @PurdueSLHS! Her expertise and commitment to her field will undoubtedly benefit both our students and the broader Purdue SLHS community. Please join us in welcoming her! #PurdueSLHS #PurdueHHS #Audiology

If you’re interested in multisensory integration 🦻👀, face/vocalization perception in monkeys🐒, or cortical microcircuits, take a look: Our new paper on the laminar pattern of visual, and audiovisual, responses across the cortical hierarchy is out now academic.oup.com/cercor/article…

At long last, our (@RamRamLab) paper on the subcortical encoding of sound envelope is out! 🔊🐒 Thread below Ahead of print paper at J Neurophysiol: journals.physiology.org/doi/abs/10.115… Preprint: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Our poster is up on the @SfNtweets website! I’ll be representing the Translational Neuroscience Division at Nathan Kline Institute in person on Monday. Come talk thalamocortical circuits and rhythm! Details below.

Excited that after a year of waiting, I can finally announce my @NIH F31 grant was funded by the National Eye Institute! Grateful to @VandyWallaceLab and @RamRamLab for entrusting me to venture into new territory for both labs with this ambitious project.

Now in press @JNeurophysiol ! doi.org/10.1152/jn.004…

Proud of our friend and collaborator, @Chase_Mackey of @RamRamLab, for successfully defending his thesis yesterday. He will soon be moving up to NY to start a postdoc with Charlie Schroeder at the Nathan Kline Institute. Keep an eye on him, we know he is destined for big things!

🙈🔉 new preprint 🔉🙈 We used single neurons, populations, and computational modeling to find that subcortical spiking activity and a temporal integration model accounted for primate sound envelope discrimination. biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh… (1/3)
